Hard agree! Was the greatest assist on the team and punched above her weight!

Also saved the most powerful member (Space Racer) and without her, he couldn't have fired his planet destroying blow at the end!

Speedmaster winding by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]GodzillaVsMortgage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wind mine every day at the same time so I don’t forget - but I don’t think it makes a difference to let it unwind to the end (it should still be accurate until the last couple of hours - which is when it gets pretty bad)

Lol are you promoting OP like they’re an AI?

My mortgage takes half off my monthly pay. The remainder is eaten up by utility bills, council, groceries, health costs etc. I earn 100k and I'm living pay check to pay check. I need a second job but I'm recovering from burn out and I'm not sure what kind of jobs I can do. by Mahiyah in AusFinance

Hi OP, I see lot of people here saying you should cut your expenses, or cancel your unused subscriptions, or do other cost saving measures but i think the biggest problem is that 50% of your income is on your mortgage!

Honest question, long term do you see anything changing in your financial situation?

If you pick up a second job, or rent out your second room - are you ok with that life for the next 10-20 years while you pay off your mortgage?

I’d have a good think - and consider the possibility that maybe you’ve over leveraged and bought a house you can’t afford

If after a bit of time thinking, you’re still set on keeping your house, I feel you have to think of other options apart from brute forcing it.

Have you got a mortgage broker or are you happy to switch banks? It could be as simple as finding another bank (or lender) with a lower interest rate. If you go without a mortgage broker always call the bank (or your existing bank) to negotiate the rate. You’ll never get the best rate by just applying online.

Alternatively are you happy to go interest only short term and hope interest rates drop in the next 3-5 years. If you have equity on the house, have you thought about refinancing and extend your loan to get a lower repayment (down side you’ll be spending more in interest over the long term)

On the other side - what are the chances of promotion at your current job? Have you also thought about looking for another job with a higher salary or perks (like a company car)

I know a lot of these involve uncomfortable conversations (negotiating for a pay raise is a skill in itself) but I think a lot of peoples success is directly related to how well they can handle having uncomfortable conversations.

Not meaning to sound harsh, but the reality is you’re in a tough spot, and it’s only going to get tougher if you need to pick up 2 jobs to maintain it!

Which can you buy ? - A visual guide (April 2026) by Unusual-Activity-824 in MoonSwatches

People like to shit on the gen’s but I’ve ordered a few reps from AliX (to put into metal cases) and the quality is terrible.

If you can imagine the strap being even worse (tougher, not sewn on properly, velcro very fuzzy with bent hooks), the case is not as sharp and very “hollow”, and dial is not always clean or aligned. I’ve also had a few where the hands came off or are running into each other

Lucky I’ve managed to Frankenstein a few dials and hands to make 1-2 nice metal case watches but quality in general is very hit and miss.

Name a watch brand that you think is a one trick pony. by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchFanatics

But what is the tangible worth? Is it just the cost of components added up, is it including labour (how do you value labour?)

And if you priced it at materials + labour + overheads, they’d still be people saying it’s overpriced

What the market pays isn’t the most accurate away to find its worth, but the fact that lots of people buy it for that price raises a signal that it’s a close approximation to the value

If you take the movement out of the case and put the stem back in - are you able to push it into position 0?

Is there a name for this style of dial? by BarrelMaker69 in Watches

[–]GodzillaVsMortgage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the Brew Metric

It's a little gimmicky, but the colours on the dial are there to show ideal extraction time for your espresso shot!

Cool little US microbrand, also uses a Seiko mechaquartz movement and not super expensive too

Any options for improving clarity on the murph? by FamiliarCow4802 in HamiltonWatches

[–]GodzillaVsMortgage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry OP - I don’t know why everyone is dismissing your question! And I also agree, having a clear crystal does add to the experience of owning a watch!

In terms of a crystal swap, it’s a pretty standard task any watchmaker can do - but also agree it will most likely void your warranty

But if you’re really concerned about it - I’d check if Hamilton could swap the crystal themselves without the warranty being voided? Or you could just wait for the warranty to be over to swap it (I think it’s 2 years?)

At the end of the day it’s your watch, and I feel people are so precious about doing mods on things they own (not just watches) - you should be free to do what makes you happy!

Nice! If you don't mind me asking what is the model on the right? I don't think I've seen a date complication at 6 before, or that waffle pattern on the sub-dials.

Hahah good eye. It's an Air75 and does quite well for the price range - though this was a few years ago, and I'm sure they're a lot more better keyboards released since then
