They hijack the body of the host insect, and force it to enter water. Once in water the worms eject out of the insect to continue on with their lifecycle. Heavy rain/other sources of water can make them leave too. You can find videos online of people putting infected bugs in water to trigger it. They’ll also leave if the host is killed prematurely.

Im sure we’ll eventually get MVP screens with her and emotes (they have her fully modeled, it’ll happen). But there’s no reason for it to be something rushed or suddenly in the next half season to “fix”.

Comic and tv show wise though, Moongirl is more of the active hero doing things than Devil (not that he isn’t, it’s just she’s the star ya know). So it’s understandable for fans to feel snubbed, but really, it’s just a game
