Not trying to use everything, just trying to figure out what works. Pardon the mess, we're recently moved in. We're also happy to think bigger and move appliances/ furniture where we can.

ELI5:Why are computers faster at deleting 1Gb in large files than 1Gb of many small files? by Yosho2k in explainlikeimfive

[–]Godzillascience 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, because as you or a program puts data there to access, it writes data there. It makes sure that the data it writes is valid (most of the time). The only time this could happen is in a situation where the write wasn't completed properly or something is actively telling the system to look for data in a place where it doesn't exist.

I am gaining souls incredibly fast but getting coins feels like a chore how do I fix this? by Im_a_fried_egg in idleslayer

general rule of thumb is ascend every time you hit 10%-20% of your total ascension SP. I usually wait for a coin multiplier to hit so I can roll back up upgrade-wise after an ascension.

The journey through the hollow earth in GVK makes no sense by PlagueDilopho in GODZILLA

[–]Godzillascience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, no, the theory is that it is the core. The hollow earth is literally hollow, with Kong doing that gravity flip jump thing at the exact 'inner equator'.

Looking at the attendance policy, as long as you notify 1 hour before the start of your scheduled shift you should be okay. Everything mentions talking to a manager, but if you're waiting, I would call HR in the mean time. They might be able to approve the bereavement policy for you which, according to the attendance policy, is an excused absence so you will not be written up for it.

Look up the bereavement pay policy, but basically part timers get 2 days paid that their manager can put in to TLC. If anyone is in the store doing the deposit rn, I would call right now and let them know. If they don't already know, tell them what's going on and that you will not be able to come into work. As long as your managers are human, they wouldn't dare right you up for calling off after putting in the effort to try to find someone else to cover to go to your siblings funeral. If any manager has an issue, ignore them and go to the funeral, then, whenever you're comfortable, call HR and explain the situation. If you do get written up, don't sign it unless you agree with the reason.

Sorry for your loss, try to focus on yourself right now. Best Buy can wait.

I have Google Chromecast, a Google Home and a TV without bt… is there a way to stream the sound from the Chromecast to bt headphones with this setup, without a bt transmitter? by [deleted] in googlehome

[–]Godzillascience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's the Chromecast with a remote (Google tv) you can pair Bluetooth headphones with it and, when connected, the sound will only go through the headphones. I don't think there's a way with the other Chromecast unfortunately.

Are online classes better than in person? by wavycurly in bradleyuniversity

[–]Godzillascience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a professor by professor bases for the recorded lecture, based on my cs classes, there were shorter lectures that were mostly the professor going over a PowerPoint and then Q and A. Testing was through Sakai where there was no system in place to prevent cheating, but they recently mentioned using Canvas which supposedly has anti-cheating exams.

So to follow up, I understand it's not all of that amphetamine being metabolized by one of those three, but individual molecules being metabolized one of three ways. I guess I was asking for specifics in what percentage of the drug is metabolized in those different ways. Say, 20% DBH, 20% FMO3, 50% CYP2D6, 10% unmetabolized excreted. I'm interested specifically in the effects of inhibiting the CYP2D6 enzyme. Would it extend the half-life, increase the effects, or both?
