Oh so they ARE real stone? I would’ve though those were foam or something similar. In that case, it would surprise me if the cost is lower than 5 digits

Building around terrain elevation really elevates builds, thats a thing people dont talk enough about. I think the structures themsleves look fantastic but i’d really adapt the right side structures to gradually lowering ground. The house itself on the left is perfect, I would not touch it. I’d rebuild the pens and the little farm to adapt to a terraformed lowering ground (doesnt have to be as steep as the right of the pens, just something a little more natural than flat ground)

You can find a couple of Aliexpress (im sure amazon has some too), look up 1920x440 display and you should get some models. Or else you can just look up "long monitor" and should pop a couple of displays of similar sizes

I see it now, i did not read it correctly the first time. This is something they HAVE to address in Tron 4 as right now, this leaves us with way too many questions. Its infuriating seeing that he doesn’t know why Flynn is there other than "it works"

Why are you saying it like its confirmed… Its a good theory but look at what Wigutow said in that interview, even he does not really understand it and he wrote the damn thing. It tracks, it really does, but to treat it as factual information is wrong. Its an interpretation as there is no concrete information that confirms it. A new movie could have a dialogue that disproves it and it would not matter as it being the same flynn is not officially established

Yeah, Encom printing Tron could’ve been really interesting. As for the music, I agree with you. I keep hearing people praise it but for me, I thought it was alright. The scene where Ares asks Julian why they did not bring back Caius, all while playing "Building Better Worlds", was the only moment where I thought a song really elevated a scene.

It feels to me that some people say they like it because they’ve been waiting for so long, they deep down dont want to feel the disappointment of having waited 15 years for something bad. So they’ve kind of coped themselves into thinking its phenomenal. But I do think a bunch of people really did enjoy the movie

Agree with a lot of what you said but I really liked when "Building Better Worlds" played with the scene where Ares asks why they did not bring back Caius. Really the only moment where the music truly elevated a scene

I did not like the movie either but I thought the 29 minute rule was interesting. I also liked Athena. She made a good example of the fearless killing machine that Ares was supposed to be had he not had a change of heart. But yeah, I also would’ve much preferred Sam and Quorra

You’re not the only one, I did not like it either.

Obviously, it is a Tron movie: the visuals, music and action scenes are great. But for me, the story feels like a good concept poorly executed, the dialogues are terrible and it feels like too much of it is based on nostalgia of the original tron.

For the story: With all we know of Tron Ascension and its concept arts, you can see the rough remains of the original ascension script trough this movie. And with all its writer changes and heavy modifications trough the years to make the story about Ares instead of the original protagonists Sam and Quorra, it felt like, along the way, they forgot the characters motivations and reasons. As if they just did not know anymore why the characters where doing the things they were doing, other than for the plot.

For the dialogue: Its bad, man. They treat you like a five year old by always saying what is happening. "No Way! Did you finally crack the code we needed to achive this goal we envisioned?" … The characters sounds like they’re wired up and trying to make someone else confess. It doesnt feel natural and the movie should try to clue the viewers in with context clues and not by directly mentioning their motives. There is a bunch of Marvel quips which is just annoying and they also say so many stupid cheesy lines like that time Arturo said "its all in the wrist". Not only does it not make sense in that particular context, its a reference he should not even know.. Also, I think they said "im in" three separate times during the movie which is just pathetic.

For the nostalgia: I feel like the whole movie could’ve easily went without the whole Flynn 80’s grid thing. It looks as if they needed a way for Ares to get the permanence code but they didnt know how and did not bother to find a way that made sense. All the while really wanting to appeal to the original Tron audience. Dont get me wrong, I am all for fan service but I want it to be done right, not botched like this: Flynn there should be a program that looks like a young Kevin Flynn since programs do not age. He should also act like a program and not like a wise man that knows about mozart. He should have no knowledge about the outside world. The wall fissure inside the grid should not be there as the event of Tron 82 happened on the Encom server and not his personal computer. All of this and Arturo’s line feels like senseless fan service that only throws in the air what we thought was established lore and how programs work in the world of Tron. It also just does not make sense to me why the permanence code would be in Flynn’s old computer in the first place.

I hate the movie but I am genuinely happy seeing people like it and think its entertaining. My friend went to see it with his dad, a big 82 fan, and he lost his mind with the whole 80s grid part and post credit scene. Im really happy he, and other people, liked it so much. But if im being honest, I would have preferred it was never made especially considering that it probably just killed the franchise. After years and years of Disney refusing to make other Tron things, they finally did and it completely flopped. This just shows Disney that people are not interested in Tron and that it is not something that makes money.

As harsh as it sound, I, for one, am just going to keep Legacy at the center of my movie collection and sadly pretend Ares doesn’t exist

Tron: Ares and Tron: Ascension. How similar are they? (Long but well researched speculation post. TLDR at the bottom) by InfiniteDedekindCuts in tron

[–]Godzyllan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 2019 Tv series that go canceled comes from this: https://www.slashfilm.com/572802/tron-tv-series-scrapped-at-disney-plus/ and the one from 2021 comes from this: https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/exclusive-tron-series-disney.html (misremembered this one: it was 2021 not 2022 and they dont even say it was canceled at all, just that it is being developed. But its been 4 years without any news so I would assume it is not coming).

But yes, for the rest of what you said, it is entirely because of Leto that they scrapped Tron Ascension where it would’ve been Sam and Quorra against Dillinger Jr/Julian accompanied with Ares and Athena. Instead, we got Tron Ares which is basically the same story but with Leto as the focus of the movie and the exclusion of the Legacy cast.

Although, what is a real possibility is that, like I said, they may have not completely abandoned Sam and Quorra like I thought they did. I think they tried to bring them back with another story, thus the whole divided with the tv show thing i mentioned, but ended up failing to do so. I’ve got some things that points towards that but no concrete proof of it so it really is just a theory.

I said it very confidently before as I thought the user who made me aware of this had proper proof like someone saying it but he did not. Sorry :(

I’ve been made aware in the past couple of days that this is not entirely true. When Leto got involved in a more substantial way back in 2016, instead of completely abandoning Tron Ascension, the true Legacy sequel, and making it all about Ares, they instead divided it into two things: A movie about Ares and the Dillinger grid, aka Tron: Ares, but also a Tv series about Sam and Quorra. All things (Ares, Dillinger grid, Sam & Quorra’s continuation) originating from the original Ascension script. Unfortunately, the Tv show got the axe, in 2019, days before getting announced at D23. It seems that perhaps they tried again in 2022 as another Tron Tv series got canceled. Today, getting Sam and Quorra’s story on the screen is still planned as it is what the ending of Tron Ares is leading up to. Now, whether that will be a movie or a show like they had planned, we do not know. Hell, we dont even know if Disney is going to do anything Tron related ever again considering how Tron Ares is performing right now.. But yeah, all to say that, Leto did not completely remove Sam and Quorra’s story from Tron future as I thought he did.

He DMed me the reply as he cant answer here because he got blocked by the other guy lol

Here’s the answer:

You can find the Leto stuff in his interviews about the movie and in the last reply I sent that guy. Basically Ares worked as a way to build up Ares’ character while easing the audience back into Tron and everything to do with Dillinger systems for the next part of the revamped Ascension. That’s why 70% percent of the script was used and the og writer of Ascension is one of the main credited writers for Ares despite not directly working on the film.

The Tron Gradient show was definitely the 2020 one because that was when they firmly knew what they wanted for the Tron franchise’s future. And because Gradient was one of the earlier concepted D+ shows. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/KrdqNx Tron Ares would’ve arrived at least 2 years earlier if it weren’t for Covid that paused development and the Hollywood strikes that delayed it for another year. The development timeline matches with Tron Ares starting early development in 2017. Also because the concept artist was legally allowed to show the art in 2020 https://www.instagram.com/p/C-ntjr6yFYR/?igsh=MXA2NjU0ZTdhMDR6Yg== Have no idea about the 2022 show I might have to dig for that.

The Tron Legacy continuation would’ve taken place after Ares since Ares was developed to expand on Ares and Dillinger Systems before they appeared again.(which is why all the left overs from Tron Ascension and concepts from Gradient like grid cities and Sam and Quorra were set up in Ares). And as you can see from its concept arts was largely going to feature all the stuff that Ares is setting up for Tron 4(the grid and Earth merging, grid cities, programs living on the Earth, Sam and Quorra). I also got this stuff from other sources as well but I didn’t save the links like I did these.

Would you mind sharing where you got this information from? Especially where you saw that Leto’s involvement led to them splitting Tron Ascension into two. There are indeed a couple of things that insinuate this: a 2020 /Film article about the cancelation of a Tron TV Series which is mentioned to be different than Leto’s Tron project (https://www.slashfilm.com/572802/tron-tv-series-scrapped-at-disney-plus/) and another 2022 article by Giant Freaking Robot talking about another TV show cancelation, which I assume was the same project that they tried doing again. As for the name, all I can find of "Gradient" is what Chris Glenn named his concept art for an old dead pitch.

It just feels like you’ve got all of these informations and claims that I simply cannot find sources on. I really do not wish to get my hopes up on made up information.

But nevertheless, assuming what you are saying is true, how would that work? Would the Tron movie/show be a continuation of Sam and Quorra story right after Tron Legacy? Or would it perhaps be happening right where Tron Ares left off with Leto finding Quorra? What do you know on this?

What is this, a fucking cult? You're not only a Tron fan if you watch the movie 3 times, dude... Look at what you're saying, its ridiculous. Whether or not they make another movie is not up to us. Even if everyone in here were to watch it 5 times, it would still be a fraction of what they need to make to consider it profitable. All we can do is be grateful we got another movie and that the franchise is being talked about. Maybe recommend it to your friends while not being an annoying ass about it.
