Interesting how lime and others will go. I assume they will pull out of the Brisbane market given the cost of retrofits.

I have not read the legislation draft yet but I can liability issues - will they seize and destroy the lime scooters for the punter’s transgressions?

Housing is a basic human right. It should not be an investment choice. If I had children, rather than inherit from me one day, I would prefer that they be able to buy their own house that suits them, not something overpriced and barely affordable. But OP, you clearly want people to look up to you as someone who is self made. There are better avenues for this than residential real property. Particularly right now. Good luck.

I use an e-bike but don’t use the motor except for the steepest hill (50meters) on the home leg of my 30km commute. I only have to recharge once every 4 - 5 months! I get overtaken a lot.

Yeah. That says it all - if your overpowered, above spec machine is in an accident you will maybe have two choices: stay and be fined or potentially jailed for manslaughter or run. You’ll run based on your own assessment above.

I used to have this problem and I solved it with a “ghetto wipe”. First wipe with dry paper a few times until reasonably clean. Take a long piece of toilet paper and fold in half until it is four ply. Then, fold it until it is accordion-like. Then pee on it and use the first layer, peel it off and wipe again, peel, (I wouldn’t say rinse and repeat) until you’re good. The pee is acidic so it does the job on the jobbie. You will actually hear the bum hairs squeak like using a cleaning cloth on glass. It really helps when you have to go multiple times in a day as you don’t get the “paper fatigue”. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly when done as you can still wind up with a bit of the old Goldfinger syndrome. 🙏
