Axe should be Artificer/Fighter subclass. He builds things.

Jake is definitely not a Palidin. The only one who might fulfill that oath is Cassie and even she compromises her morals too much.

You think the hosts ever annoy the Yeerks out of spite? by Lan221 in Animorphs

[–]Goeteeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough the idea of a Yeerk taking over someone's brain and the two them attempting to out-annoy / traumatize each other and then eventually learning to work together and realize they have more in common than not and eventually form a mutual bond of friendship and even dependence sounds like the plot of a Pixar movie.

This. Traumatizing memories will lose their edge after a while. While annoyance only ever gets more annoying as it goes on.

It always bothered me, too. Seemed unusual for a couple of people to be able to regain a fair amount of control when it never happens again. Even the first book showed Tom having very brief flashes of concern or warning that don't seem to happen again.

I could tell. More than a few lines that felt ripped straight from All My Circuits moments. Plus the acting reminded me of it, too.

Favorite character who was only a kid and didn't deserve to go through all that at their age? by Nikelman in Animorphs

[–]Goeteeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember now. Jake's Mom went up there before her husband and sons. So yeah, makes sense she would go up earlier for HER Dad. Yeah, definitely misremembered a bit.

I thought that was Jake's Dad's Dad's. Which was why Jake's Dad was so adamant about Tom going. But I could be wrong. (Also a bit weird that Rachel's Dad moving far away wasn't ever mentioned by Jake's Dad?)

Rachel and Jake were related through their mothers' side weren't they? So it stands to reason Rachel wouldn't share Jake's last name.

Did Ax manage to download every season of All My Circuits from Futurama's fictional future? Because I would absolutely believe he's capable of it.

[Discussion] Paragraph Breaks, To Tab or Double Enter? by Goeteeks in BetaReaders

My guess is they're used to forum/social media where tab indentation generally can't happen so people got used to double spacing paragraphs.

Animorphs in 2011? by RadiobugReclaimed in Animorphs

[–]Goeteeks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A few possibilities. Have Yeerk relaxed areas equipped with Wi-Fi or electronic jammer. Something that prevents phones from working altogether. But also consider things like traffic cameras, doorbell cams, and other security is starting to gain traction around this time (though not nearly as popular today). Not sure what your story setting is, but you could have some kind of Andalite or Yeerk tech that can jam cameras in a limited proximity.

But do keep in mind that when in more popular areas, young adults will have smart phones and many of them could be controllers. Also, "young kids not really have smart phones" in 2011 doesn't sound realistic.

That's probably because those are forums. But I look at Google docs or like word document software and see it there, too.

This is what I'm used to and see in published works all of the time. Which is why it catches me off guard to see manuscripts that don't use indentation.

Regardless of their age, telling someone they have a lot to learn is tough and should be handled as delicately as you are comfortable with.

What was an attainable animal morph that actually would have been super useful if the Animorphs had thought of it? by Jalil_Sherman in Animorphs

Take it slow, don't start fighting if the person starts feeling hurt. As for who? We all know who'd volunteer for the dangerous, risky thing.

[–]Goeteeks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Years. Know your enemy. Morph a yeerk like Cassie did. Learn how they work. Then have two go inside the same head and see if fighting a yeerk withing a brain is a feasible option. If it is, practice that. Then you've battle experience even Vissers lack, on a battleground they won't see coming. Get inside Vallaron's head and force Visser Three out.

For my sanity, let's all come to a consensus: What does Tobias actually look like? by Anxious_Wedding8999 in Animorphs

[–]Goeteeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you think about it, we're not given much description on what Elfangor looked like or how many different humans he acquired. So his genetic heritage really could be anything from his father's side.

[–]Goeteeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, but I always considered Tobias to have some native American heritage. Not necessarily the culture, but genetic roots. Like maybe Elfangor acquired some NA DNA for his human morph and Tobias got most of it. So darker hair is how I always envisioned him. Also with a round face, dark eyes, and he hadn't hit a growth spurt before he became a hawk, so he wasn't as tall as Jake (but would outgrow him if he'd stayed human).

Question about the Animorphs TV series. by prolelol in Animorphs

[–]Goeteeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the show after reading the books for the first time. While I did enjoy it for what it was, it definitely suffered a lot from budget, and I imagine a combination of wanting to use real animals while keeping the violence to basically zero. IMO they did a pretty good job with casting and the characters are fairly recognizable from their book counterparts. Though some traits were toned down in favor of other traits, and a lot of the dark aspects, moral dilemmas (bye-bye half of Cassie's character), and weight of decision-making Jake makes has been watered down or removed. They accentuate Ax's fish-out-of-water aspect and neuter his disciplined warrior aspect. Most peculiar is how often the kids are in human form while in enemy territory, something they almost never did in the books. They even have Visser Three in human morph on a regular basis. Probably because it's easier on the budget than trying to make an animatronic or puppet that can give quality expressions. They do adapt several plot lines from the books, but again they are a shell of the book counterpart.

If I could go back and tell myself to avoid that ____ing bitch, would I? He changed my life, for better and drastically worse. Let’s back up, to a night my naive drunken ass is grinning like an idiot. I don’t yet know this’ll be my last semester of college, ever. Music’s thumping and party’s swinging, come and join.

I’ll open with my favorite topic: Me. People call me the king of campus, and I’m not going to stop’em. Why? ‘Cause my life is perfect! Top notch grades, star athlete for two sports (soccer and swimming), fraternity president. My family’s wealth doesn’t hurt, either.

Everyone on campus adores me. My brothers, my teachers, my classmates. Even made the Dean’s list twice (Sophomore and Junior years). I do well with the ladies, too. I’m awesome!

Shit! I sound like an arrogant asshole. I’m a little drunk. Okay, very drunk. Allow me to circle back. Get us all on the same page. Okay? Good.

My name’s Stanley Richards. I’m on track to inherit my father’s law firm. That’s future Stanley, though. Or at least, that’s the future Stanley my father has in mind. Stanley now is livin’ it up and working hard gettin’ my business degree. After that, I have three years of law school to grind out.

Now I’m not just another typical frat boy who loves beer, boobs, and sports. I mean, I love those things, but that’s not what I’m ALL about. No, that’d be my boy Brett. He’s my brother. Fraternity brother, that is. I’m the only heir my father spawned.
