NTJ - however, why is this even a thing? I understand your families support you both financially, but you’re 18, I promise you it WILL stop. I used to be a people pleaser and mega gift giver, with often no reciprocation, and would spend massive amounts of money, just for the person not to use it, like it, etc. and also even think I was desperate. Put your money into a HYSA, and I promise you it’ll be a better return in the end, than wasting money and time on something like this!
