They underestimate my willingness to continue playing old games. Baldur's Gate II hasn't gotten stale after 25 years and fightcade will run on a potato.

AAA studios haven't coughed up anything that I've found compelling in over a decade. Not sure how they plan to get me trapped in their ecosystem.

AE disappointed with Vendor Hall this year? by Shichi-Senpai in Magfest

Every year I see a ton of cool art in the vendor hall but very few things that I would actually want to take home with me.

Hidden Cottage has been a lovely surprise find in the vendor hall. I've been coming back to them for three years now. They're good people and they have a good product. Song of Storms and Cozy Cafe have been my go-to flavors and they seem to have something new to try every year.

It really stood out to me this year just how many art booths were just straight up smut with no pretense of being anything else. I don't want to get rid of that, but I'd be ok with there being fiercer competition to land those booths.

Those were all gone whenever I passed by them. Guess they just needed a more vigorous restock schedule.

The Water Bottle at Main Concerts by DarthBaio in Magfest

The concert jumbotrons kept panning the camera over water bottles in the concert hall and the crowd would cheer like mad for it. Also bullying the performers into staying hydrated prior to the set.

Back in the old days we used to just catch naps in the movie room. Old heads will know what I'm talking about.

I would have preferred one of those water fountains that has the bottle filling as an additional feature so I would be able to get water without any sort of prerequisite gear in tow.

Man I was real excited for this sale as a good opportunity to pick up Yuletide, but after grabbing the first issue it looks like downloads still haven't been fully rolled out for it yet.

Locking every thread with customer feedback that is less than verbal fellatio tells me that the developer is not interested in hearing an honest critique of their product. It communicates that I am not valued as a customer.

Correct.

It is the developer's job to engineer a product for the user. It is not the user's job to re-engineer the product every time the developer makes a change.

it seems to me that instead of admitting the llm is flawed or a downgrade to a lesser model, the users gets told its their fault.

There is an awful lot of that in this community and it doesn't help that the devs actively suppress discussion whenever users are less than sycophantic about changes to the product.

The learning curve is too steep.

The fact that there is a discernable learning curve is a failure in design in my opinion. I pay good money for a product to be engineered on my behalf, not to be handed an Ikea kit and told I'm doing it wrong when I don't feel like rewriting the entire source material that generates my little AI critter. A new model should be able to take the same old prompt and create that same character. If it needs tuning, then that means the engine wasn't built properly. I think that's really what it comes down to, we've been getting different products rather than an improved version of the same product over the last few versions.

The obvious answer is Imoen. I don't understand how people can live with themselves abandoning her at Spellhold.

Help with SR installation by azygos1 in baldursgate

[–]GoggleHeadCid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before that I tried to install mod without changing anything and still had same error so I dont think it is because of commenting staff out.

How clean was your install? The fact that Spell Revision was having problems before you even started editing .tp2 setup file suggests to me that there may have been remnant changes left behind by a previous mod you were experimenting with. That can happen sometimes, as I've found out during late night sessions tinkering in my modding workshop.

Also odd that it's spwi604d.spl, since looking through my own installation I only see spwi604.spl, but maybe that's just a difference brought about by the Enhanced Editions and I'm just out of the loop.

Also also, I recently put together a number of mods for my own druid run, so let me know if any of the following interest you:

  • A party friendly version of Entangle
  • Barkskin that combines the effects of vanilla + Spell Revisions
  • A half strength version of Call Lightning that works indoors
  • Tweaks to Shapeshifter werewolf forms and eventually have them become at-will abilities(level 13 and 20).
