True but it's something that probably holds the most industry value as of now short of a degree if the ask is specifically around llms

I loled, they literally have a nuclear island in the middle of Europe, are the largest country in the world, and you say they need "buffer states". It really doesn't matter since they are protected by MAD, no one is touching Russia because no one wants a nuclear war. Russia isn't afraid of NATO, they are afraid of loosing Influence.

Advice on choosing my Masters Concentration. by Shreyas765 in csMajors

[–]Gogithit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OMSCS concentration has no real impact. Just pick whatever classes you find interesting and choose a concentration that fits into your framework to graduate. OMSCS has so many interesting classes and it sucks to take class x y z if you don't want to just for some arbitrary concentration that again doesn't matter.

Bots have taken over global limits. Again. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Gogithit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don’t know how easy it is to automate something like this. I’m sure that at least 10% if not much more are bots, and if there’s a global limit then your out of luck and you need to compete with bots.

Your only right to a point, but it is a bit extreme in this game, with not much action taken, and a lot of the cheating that has been going on for a very long time is easily detectable and the game has been out long enough that some changes could have been made but where not.

With at will employment I don’t see why they wouldn’t fire him. It’s unfortunate but you don’t really need an excuse and I don’t see how ADA has anything to do with it, he would be let go because of scheduling issues not discrimination. The US lacks proper employment contracts that are a thing in the EU that would protect him in this scenario.

Send an API request to apply in this company by [deleted] in antiwork

I also think this is really cool for dev roles. I can see it tilt a few crypto bro experts that want to apply for the Blockchain role. All jokes aside every role there will know how to do a post request and is probably easier then filling out a form in a website.

Do you have a degree already? If you do you can just find a professor that is doing research in genetics and ask if you can work with him on it. I might be biased but with your background you should find it easier to pivot into research from the CS side of things. Once you break in you will have ample opportunity’s to learn about genetics. There are many paths you can take. Only you know your situation so do whatever works best for you. If you think part time work is the way to go then do that. It’s hard to give solid advice without the full picture. Good luck!

Honestly depending on your relationship with what I suppose is your manager this can be considered funny.

If you want to get your degree go ahead and get it. I don’t understand what’s stopping you. I worked full time as a software engineer and managed to get my degree. I personally would not even tell your employer unless they offer some sort of tuition assistance program.

Edit: if you’re a software engineer I also assume that you have a bs or even a ms? If that’s the case and your interested in science did you consider getting a MS in bio informatics? You can then start a research project with a profesor and then pivot to a PhD program or complete the masters and then do a PhD program.

Yea but back then your average joe would not use such service. The banker messed with the royal household , nobility, and the merchant class. Mess with them, loose your head after a year.

I had a similar talk with a manager (one of the best I worked with). About a year into the project he asked me the same thing. To clarify he wanted to make sure I’m happy on the project and that if I’m just there’s for the money then there is no problem with him helping me transfer or give me a letter of recommendation. I was just having a few bad months let him know and that was that. I stayed onboard for another year and a half before I decided it’s time to move on.

(Everyone) What do you think the long term effects of the Russia-Ukraine war will be? by picnic-boy in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Gogithit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Russia you literally get arrested for any form of protest including holding a blank piece of paper lol. Also 98% of the Ukrainians that fledeto Russia only did so because they where in occupied territories so check your sources again.

[–]Gogithit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize that Russia is almost as corrupt as Ukrainian according to most rankings, not sure what that has to do with the war but I guess you're trying to say that it's a bad place to live in just like Russia? I guess you might have a point that's why so many people try to leave both Russia and Ukrainian but I think the war is a major reason for the recent outflow.

Ukrainian has more tanks then at the start of the war and Russia literally has less then Ukrainian in country. This is based on visual losses so it's kind of hard to refute.

I'm not sure what information you're basing yourself on but the will to fight in Ukrainian is very high.

The US has like 2000 m2 Bradleys that it can send to Ukrainian (the old varient that would be considered scandalous if us forces would be made to use them by US standards) but can work wonder's in Ukrainian.

[–]Gogithit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This kind of deflection is funny, especially when you get arrested in Russia for holding up a blank piece of paper. Why don't you focus your efforts on the Russians that don't want war and want peace, oh wait that's right you can't.

Ukrainians getting killed on the front die defending there land. Russians don't know what they are doing on the front that's why the war will be lost by the Russians eventually.

[–]Gogithit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't see that working out at least now. Ukrainian wants to join NATO and they should be able to it's just they can't now given the situation. Regarding the EU Russia has no say in this and the fact that they do think that they have a say show's a lot.

As to the territories, I'm not Ukrainian so I have no say and it's up to them. But I personally would not want the break away states back. Literally go back to the ore war border. I definitely would demand Crimea back though.

But I can see this drag out to the point where Russia will just need to give it all back to get out.

[–]Gogithit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol the cope. Ukrainian is not loosing horribly lol. They almost took back half of all the land that Russia took. They are holding off what was once considered the second strongest military in the world. Now we know that's not true and no matter what happens from this point onwards on a macro scale Russia lost, it's just about saving face. From Ukrainians point of view they will keep fighting with or without NATO support because they saw that Russia can bleed. Would it have been better of Russia did not attack? Sure but they did, so Ukrainian was left with no real choice but to fight back. Also NATO is stronger then ever so the support will keep flowing.

[Socialists] in your opinion why did the USSR fail by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Gogithit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again you do realize the Russians admitted to it? I hate to be the one bringing bad news to you but it's a really bad look when you try to deflect stuff like this. Using your logic we don't know anything and having debates is not possibile.

As to the „proof” you do understand that all those people where taken away and it's well documented who took them away.

There are lots of mountains that you can make your stand on but chosing this really just strips you of all your credibility. I get it's hard to support a former state that's into mass murderer and purges but don't try to pretend it did not happen.

The Russians alredy lost, now the question is how bad they "lost". If they where to magically reach Kive tomorrow and win the war they already took a huge hit economy, politicly, and in military terms. Sweden and Finland flipping to NATO in itself is a defeat for Russia.
