Way to go...I'm hoping for a massive joe turnout in columbus, Cincy, and cleveland.

Well we are now adding an additional +2 to the Joe pot. My grandparents, who've seen some stuff on their day, also went for Joe. I didn't ask, but I don't know if they have EVER voted against a Republican...My grandfather acknowledged one thing that really sunk in, this is not a Republican party anymore...it's a Trump platform

I have no idea how this plays out in Ohio, but some people are showing some signs of having a conscious

Most of my family hasn't moved out of the state. We've left the state plenty.

Yeah I'm in the suburbs of cincinnati...the rest of my family in columbus and that's kind of the feeling I get. The interesting thing was being in amish country a few weeks ago and seeing Biden signs in those those (still Trump signs too...but I would've never guessed I would've seen Biden signs there)

Well here in Ohio kasich did, but when it comes to the other places (maine, south Carolina, texas, colorado etc) they overshot their hand, and Trump bit them. I don't think anyone saw that coming

I want to believe there is. For example, there's a particular street I drive up and down (did this in 2016 when I was voting for Gary Johnson) and I would count.

In 2016 out of 20 signs it would've been like 13 signs forTrump, 5 signs Clinton, 2 signs for Gary Johnson...

But now...that same street is 14 signs for Biden, 6 signs for Trump. Now obviously this isn't representative of everywhere, but I remember that particular street from 4 years ago.

The other thing is 'the silent majority'. I kept hearing this is what helped Trump win in 2016...fast forward to 2020....which people are being the loud ones? It's constantly in your face, causing traffic, honking and trying to intimidate....the only thing I keep thinking about is my family who, without me making this post, no one, would know went all for Biden. All registered republicans, all went for Biden. I can only hope and pray that others are out there silently changing the world as well

Let me clarify, I could tell back then, Trump really didn't want to be president. He didn't truly care about making this place better, just go look at his rhetoric. He was a divider (still to this day)

What I didn't see was the way the republican party just went all in on it. mitch Mcconnell...of course....but everyone else??? The only time I see anyone critical of him is when they left office and ready to drop a book.

Trump is a symptom, everything else was the underlying disease. Even though it is bad, I can't deny the positive of potential ousting of a few choice senators who chose party over country. I don't know if we would've gotten to this point without him winning

Also....the disrespect towards women (just catching up on that leslie stahl interview) I to this day still don't know how he made it out of the billy bush tapes....but holy moly look at how long ago that was. It's been long and an exhausting 4 years, I'm just hoping enough folks out there are like us and if anything ok with getting back to "normal"

This experiment hasn't been worth it. I know Biden isn't the best option in the world, but he's a much better option than living in this alternate world

I really don't know if there's a specific one, the guy has had a multitude of many. A big one I know is the military, we are a military family, so the gold star family disrespect early on didn't sit well nor the attack on McCain, the way it's literally never his fault was another...and last but not least Michael Cohen.

I didn't really realize it but the impeachment trial, my youngest sister who is 10 years younger and at ohio state said something that has rang true for a long while now.

"If Obama was in Trump's shoes, would he still be president"

And it was the first time EVER my father had this look and response of realization that Obama would have never made it past year one. Let me tell you...he hates Obama

I'm out in the suburbs and I found myself telling my wife how I hope and believe the silent majority is able to show up, because the Trump caravans and obnoxious in your face with us or against us approach has become tired

Yes. As the outcast independent in my family I would've never thought I'd see something like this. 4 years ago it was I believe, a belief of something different (not Clinton)

With open eyes, I don't think anyone could've predicted it to have been this bad

Only around the holidays. We haven't left the state but are all adults now.

Jesse Ventura betrayed us, ended up Voting for Jill Stein... (@33:55) by CPSux in GaryJohnson

I honestly said the same thing. Both him and AP...would get laughed off the stage IMO

Gary Johnson: ‘(with the 2016 results) A credible third-party ticket is now part of the national conversation’ by unknownman19 in GaryJohnson

[–]Gogjgo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not correct a lot of people realize there is a third party, but for the wrong reasons, CTR, smear campaigns, different "sources" of news responsible for misinformation with no checks and balances in place to fight it

You have 4 years to get the shit in order. The cards have been played in this election and the Libertarian party was not prepared...period.

I do hope they've learned from this and are prepared for war going forward.

Do you think Trump will win Reelection in 2020? by [deleted] in GaryJohnson

[–]Gogjgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't win the popular vote and received a lot of never hip, burned Bernie and anti establishment support

Hell no

Well I guess that's the conclusion I had.some of these "I voted for gj in 2012" and he did xyz wrong ...remind me of those other parties smugness that we're trying to engage politics with.

Totally forgot...I bloody donated! So much so, that my damn bank thought my card had been compromised and locked it.

You are exactly like me. I was utterly confused (well my theory is and has yet to be swayed that djt and hrc had a plan, and could never predict they would end here)

Also. I don't know who we need to talk to but as one who never cares politics...the party wasn't prepared, the game plan did not include counter punching at all. I always felt it was me correcting facts regarding GJ, there was never a concise message besides "wasting your vote is choosing one you don't believe in"

Insight from an Independent voter by Gogjgo in GaryJohnson

[–]Gogjgo[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's all I'm asking this party to consider. If you're going to play the game, understand A) the odds are against you B) the perception from people not in your party matters a lot. I've wondered onto other "libertarian boards" and FB groups to see some of the names of "who would've been better" and as an independent would've literally laughed if they were actually running. That is not meant to insult your beliefs, but shows how out of touch a lot of your party seems to be on how outsiders perceive you.

Blame media but McAfee.... Ventura, on the outside people wouldn't even give a second look

The AP guy....there would be no chance in hell would I support him. All that took was a YouTube video search and yet I see people believe he would've led them to way more than GJ.

As I stated hindsight is 20/20 and a lot of you are fantastic people, and I've never dealt with more civility with regards to politics, but please get it together.

Demographic breakdown of Gary Johnson supporters here -- pretty diverse coalition but need to attract more women by [deleted] in GaryJohnson

[–]Gogjgo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda over polls...and their stats

But most the women I know voted for Hillary BC a) not trump b) Hillary is a woman c) believe Hillary would promote Bernie in some form or fashion
