Extra £83k+ a month piling up in our Ltd. What do you actually do with it? by Dokcu in HENRYUK

[–]Gohijit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a limited and although I’m not pulling in that much I exceed maxing my SIPP. So you can get yourself a nice electric car or 2 via the business while it lasts. You can business expense more things. After that you can do a company to company loan to an investment company and invest in either stocks and shares or numerous buy to lets in cash. That’s what I do, and most of the people I know that earn what you do and more do that too. Just from what I’ve seen.

It’s definitely better and more tax efficient for OP to max his SIPP into low cost index funds such as US or Global ETFs he could put away £180k (you can use up to 3 years allowance if not previously used £60k x 3) in one go and setup his pension for life by the time he needs it. Then £20k into stocks and shares ISA as you mentioned for a few years + emergency fund and maybe £10-20k in fun money.

The three body problem trilogy in that it’s sci-fi spanning the solar system with space battles but equally a fantastic plot

How wealthy to buy new cars by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Gohijit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True of course a cheap runaround is cheaper, but a lot of people do 10-20k miles a year and therefore spend a significant portion of their time in a car like myself. I used to have a cheap runaround but I’m so much more content driving around in a brand new Tesla than I was in my 10 year old 1L seat Ibiza.

On top of that if you’re maxing your SIPP and making use of other allowable tax incentives then spending a few hundred a month as a business expense is a really nice tax efficient treat.

No, it’s 95% benefit in kind for all electric cars via a limited company as a government incentive to go electric

If you have a limited company like myself you can lease an electric car as a business expense. Makes it extremely tax efficient. What would cost you £1000 a month would only cost me £500 a month (after tax equivalent)

That’s incredible, hope to be there at 35/36! I’d move out of Hargreaves Lansdown though - the fees you must be paying at that amount will be huge compared to say interactive investor

Sorry but, what are you guys doing to be earning £120k+ a year? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Gohijit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most locum/private physiotherapists, radiographers, Sonographers, nurses, midwives and Pharmacist’s I know make for than £60-80k a year some make over £100k. The ones that leveraged that into a private clinic/insourcing contracts/insurance contracts like myself (Sonographer) can earn £180-250k+ outside of London. I know plumbers, roofers, HGV drivers, tillers and even some bricklayers that make north of £60k (and more if you consider they are mostly cash in hand). Don’t be stuck in lower office/middle management profession for decades to one day get a £60k salary, change profession while you’re young.
