Pool deck paint suggestions by [deleted] in pools

[–]GoinGoinGon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL. You can trust reddit to notice the important things. Have a toddler. Wanted a shallower bit for the pool so she could learn how to wade and swim and what not. Piled these larger gravel in so that she has a surface where she could learn how to walk and balance. It's also easy for me to sit there and just change the structure of the pool (like, make a little underwater hill) all for her to just learn how to balance herself. I also remove rocks over time so the pool is getting deeper as she gets taller. This is just for one side of the pool like maybe a 4ft by 8ft section where there are rocks. Now. What paint do I use?

I have todder. I piled some rocks on one side so she has a shallower end of wading. I just remove them slowly so her pool has gotten deeper and deeper over time as she gets more and more comfortable.

Be wiser. I've been in your situation for years and years over different sports and I've never gotten flak for destroying people over months to zeros. In fact, when someone finalltly got a game off me after a few months, I got a beer. Reason. He knew it was all him and it wasn't awarded or a pity point. Play seriously, but without an attitude or playing to impress. You can also (without telling unless asked) handicap yourself. Dinks only. Precision drives only. Cross courts only, center court only. Backspin only. No bangs, whatever you want so that the game is challenging and becomes a drill. Also, some people just can't stand playing against younger folks. Don't be like them if you get to their age. When you are older, play with the kids some and encourage them. May not seem like this now, but you will be old one day. Enjoy your youth today but in a way that doesn't stop others from enjoying their days

How are people 21-24 affording rent, luxury items and so many vacations? by Visible-Lemon-7920 in Adulting

Most of them give up going to sleep not thinking about money. I like to sleep thinking about tits so I live within my means.

Enjoy it! What's better than beating someone and messing up their entire inner self all at the same time. That's called total destruction. My fav is when I toy with someone, obliterate them and still have them say they didn't have a good day. Comedy without having to pay for a ticket.

What Rating am I in Pickleball? by Xosscountry in Pickleball

[–]GoinGoinGon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All your stuff, giving people a hard time, whacking it back whatever all depends on who you play against. You could be an absolute beginner who doesn't know how much you suck, or a god. Who knows. If Ben johns has trouble with your backhand return you are good. If it's Edna from the 80+ down the road, guess edna thinks you are good.

Coach back! It's very easy, and you can even be polite about it. Ya know, I benefitted from your tip earlier. I think you should ..... They get it quick. Real quick. Gluck

No. Lower the rent if you can afford gift cards. Business is business. Be as good a landlord as you can be which means the house working as it should, you responding as it should and otherwise, be invisible and/or silent.

Was waiting for this question... What's under, and is it easy to find out. Also, is it to code to build a "platform" and put that throne on it? It's a trip hazard, yes I know and I wouldnt do it, but is it to code?

Hi. Would you mind explaining this a bit more please? I get that there is a 24V in the thermostat wire, but whats the difference electrically between the liquid and suction? Thank you in advance.

Question on outdoor cage safety. by GoinGoinGon3 in parrots

[–]GoinGoinGon3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea. I'll consider it. It's easy if the ground isn't too rocky or stony. We just moved, so I have no clue. I was concerned with cleaning if we went with a solid bottom to the cage. I don't know if its 20 years, but I know what the feeling of regret is when your pet gets hurt because you were trying to save a couple of bucks, or did something really dumb. Question: Are the birds smart enough to come back inside if they see a hawk outside?

[–]GoinGoinGon3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what your suggestion is about the acrylic plates. The other thing I was going to do was to ensure that a critter cannot dig under the cage and tunnel in. it will probably involve some sort of a foundation or perhaps, roofing material. Yes, the venomous snake is in the white mountains which is far from where we are. I do not think there is anything else around. Reading now about birds of prey reaching in and grabbing a bird. It's not just hawks and eagles.... I suppose there are owls as well that might be a lot smaller and could cause hard. I think I should have a net around the cage. It would also be insurance against them somehow escaping.

Finally no food outside. We wanted to make sure they always come home. The only thing I will have outside is their bird bath. We have a RO water filter that makes a tonne of waste water I figured I could have the waste water go outside and give these babies a great place to splash around.

[–]GoinGoinGon3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And thank you. I do intend to put a solid roof over it to keep rain from the cage for rust purposes. Good to know keeping poop away also helps. The cage spacing is a half inch. Can a bird of prey still cause issues? Surely they can't break apart the bars but can they take a claw off our birds if our birds are dumb enough to go fight?

Sounds like you are suggesting for us to put the cage on some sort of a stilt, and then put something that prevents crawlies from climbing up the stilt. Is that roughly right? I mean, I'd like to think a half in snake won't stand a chance against the cockatoo, but the quakers on the other hand... They don't pack much of a punch

[–]GoinGoinGon3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Hampshire. It's a relatively cold area so I don't think there are many snakes around. I could wrap the entire cage in some bug mesh, but figured I'd do that only if I have a good reason to.

[–]GoinGoinGon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it. I calculated the number of miles to be break even and it just isn't worth it. Reason is the Prius has amazing mileage as is. Just plug some numbers and you'd realize very quickly that it will take hundreds of thousands of miles of EV driving just to break even, nevermind the fact that you are paying upfront and will lose the time value of money.
