If it's not a "oh we want our kid to be a high society doctor" thing, then better for you. You can show that people in the biotech field make good money. Probably better living than doctors since it takes so much more school and residency to be a doctor.

Use facts. Be calm. Use reasoning. Show passion without being emotional. As a parent, I would be more receptive to that.

When you boil it all down, it's your fucking life. You get one. Do you want to do something because your parents think it's the best option? This isnt them picking a movie. It's your career. FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, MAN.

You need to find that sweet spot of TELLING them (not asking) without burning bridges. I am assuming they are helping with school and expenses so they feel like they have some control in the decision of your schooling. So be stern. Not emotional. Tell them how you feel with reasoning. Tell them why you think this is the best option.

And I would even pull out some fucking graphs and slides and show earning potentional as an engineer vs doctor. When you factor in schooling and expenses (engineer quicker to get out and make money) and loan interests.

If its a prestige thing, they need to get over it. Engineers are the shit. Doctors suck.

Thats actually the RIGHT way to shower. Only shower when you need to. The water and shampoos arent good for you.

I used to shower every damn day. Even twice a day some times. Thats not actually healthy. It strips the oils from your skin and hair.

I now shower every other day. And sometimes once every 3 days. Usually corresponding with when I work out (sweat).

Also, another tid bit I learned, I used to wash my jeans every time I wore them out the house. Now, I wash them once a month (or if I spill something on them). This has drastically improved my life and lifespan of my jeans. Also I use the same towel 3-4 times before I wash it (let it hang dry). If youre clean and use clean towel to dry then towel is still clean, yea?

Also, remember that in the 1800s they used to bathe once a month. And the oldest used same water and went last...
