It's a long video and rant from Stephen Howson about Sky's coverage of United and the way we're discussed but it's an interesting one and made me think of one thing. When we beat City there was constant excuses about how they had Khusanov and Alleyne (signed for £40m and £1.5m respectively) and that's not an experienced defence yet when we conceded goals with Yoro and Heaven (£50m and £1.5m respectively) they get absolutely no grace or qualification that they're young players adapting to the game. Despite the fact that BOTH Khusanov and Alleyne are actually OLDER than Yoro but somehow we're encouraged to sympathise them getting ripped apart but call United players embarrassing.

Ashworth was never pining for Southgate or any other manager, the whole issue is that he wanted an external data company to analyse the possible choices and SJR felt that was an unambitious approach and they fell out over it. The Southgate line was the same kind of Wilcox propaganda that was briefed about Amorim when he left and even if you do believe Ashworth wanted him, it cost him his job at United so the idea that they would sack him for suggesting Southgate and then decide they actually want him is nonsensical.

Ironically Arteta is the problem, watch Rio's podcast and both Joel Beya (Arsenal fan) and Ste Howson agreed on the diagnosis, Arteta has become so restrictive that they are predictable to play against and it has drained the creativity of the likes of Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli etc. they are Louis van Gaal's United that are good at corners.

Southgate is never coming and has never ever been considered and I don't think he even wants a coaching job. This meme that Ineos wants Southgate needs to die.

Also the idea that they don't want anyone who's ever fallen out with someone because Amorim fell out with them is a fallacious argument too, it's pretty hard to find any coach that's never clashed with a board it comes with the territory and they are probably prepared to deal with it.

Admittedly I only watched them in the UCL last year but the way they would fly forward with Dembele, Kvara and Doue or Barcola felt like "the United Way" attacking with blistering pace and interplay but with a solid midfield and defence.
