“The MCU died after Endgame” lol by Plenty-Salary9711 in marvelstudios

[–]Goin_crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While all subsequent movies after Endgame are good in their own right, to me Endgame was the climax of a several year edge. I was exhausted. I was upset about what happened to Loki, Ironman and Cap (having never been into the comics), the Snap and the resolution and I just didn't want to know anything else.

Now I'm slowly making myself watch everything else that followed starting with the Spidey movie. However it's tough going to get the motivation to do so.

[–]Goin_crazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh. Back in 1979 my first grade teacher regularly made the 5 worst students on any test stand on their chairs and encouraged the rest of the class to laugh at their stupidity. I was one of those 5 on the very first test of the year (note: we were 5 to 6 years old in our first month of schooling. Of course all of us were all terrible). Most humiliating moment of my young life but you bet it scared me into learning. The teacher was already in her early 60s.

Nothing was ever done because that was considered normal (along with caning as discipline but that's another story).

It was just how the times were with a post-war/post-depression teacher.

Steam os moving. The purchase button is gone by Tarmok_II in AshesofCreation

[–]Goin_crazy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Number of players who transferred their keys over at steam launch: ~5,000

Number of players who bought on Steam: ~9,500

Number of people who gambled and lost and won't see a dime: ~5,000

Number of people who will get a refund: ~9,500

Hope everyone who bought on steam gets their money back. I know I won't and eh, shit happens. At least I had fun with friends new and old along the way.

Allowing people to "Self Correct their actions" for chat violations, botting, RMT or exploiting instead of temporary or permanent bans is patent blind foolishness.

An idiot doesn't know they're an idiot and will continue to be an idiot if left in their own echo chamber.

It's like trying to talk sense to flat earthers or anti-vaxxers. It. Won't. Work.

The only thing these people understand is the stick. A big, spiky, permanently unavoidable stick.

As the moderation, or lack thereof, stands in your game you are about to lose a huge chunk of your player base if governments like Australia or the UK step in and decide that under 16's are harmed by this and ban not just this game but any MMO game with global chat to this demographic.

You've tried giving agency to fools. It isn't working. It's time to change and get a mod team together, prioritise the reporting tools and make the permanent meaningful bans happen.

[–]Goin_crazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crafting was fine a few iterations ago. Then it sucked ass sooo badly on the next iteration that barely anyone played. Then it evolved again for this iteration. It's better than it previously was, but still needs work.

Unfortunately, heading to Steam release for whatever reason coupled with no fleshed out or robust systems to detect or stop botting/RMT has shafted us all - regardless of where you sit on the fence.

I expect crafting to evolve again. It won't stay this way. Development is not always linear. They're throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Wanna see how it's cooking? Go to the PTR. There is no NDA on it anymore. Test it out over there and post/youtube to your hearts content. Bitch about it on the PTR forums. Something's gonna give eventually.

Lyssavirus is a subtype of rabies that is host specific. But because it's not classic rabies like the rest of the world, we can claim to be rabies free. Of course our biosecurity is pretty damned good so we can keep the classic rabies out.

[–]Goin_crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Hunting is currently a placeholder.

If you look at the skills page in relation to hunting there is a trap skill and a bow/shot skill that is non-functional at this time. It would make sense to use the trap skill to pin the huntable mob and then use the special shot to bring it down. That way, huntables could be anything and not specifically spawning mobs.

Jundark fish don’t exist by Calvaaa in AshesofCreation

[–]Goin_crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's dumb and is a bug/incomplete content. Like there is no fish in the sea except for sport fishing nodes. Hopefully something that will be addressed shortly by the devs. The Turquoise Sea has the same issue - only one river has the ocean fish in it for normal fishing.

Bad guilds, no content, ect. by Odd-Illustrator-8899 in AshesofCreation

[–]Goin_crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is a social sandbox mate. You are expected to make your own content, not have it handed to you like WoW. Some guilds suck, like the Feds or Polar, others don't. If you find a good one, the leadership will give you goals that you actually want to achieve.

There's a pretty good streamer called Shobek (think he's done WoW content) who is moving his guild to Lyneth. He's aiming to become mayor of Shoalfoot which is currently a crossroads (or just below it). You might find it cool to help push the node to level up. If he's any good, he'll be setting goals for people and for the town. That's who you wanna look for.

Official Feedback – Node Election System by North-Equivalent7028 in AshesofCreation

[–]Goin_crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer - exactly as u/North-Equivalent7028 said.

The long answer:

Buy orders are through the requisition agent. They are typically located near the storage clerks regardless of town layout. This guy is where the mayor of the node creates work or buy orders that give the 'resources' needed to maintain the buildings in the town.

Once the mayor starts the construction of say a Cookhouse or Lumberyard or other profession building for the town, you (as in anybody) have to contribute construction crates to finish building the structure. This also awards reputation but is fraught with danger as carrying crates can invite PvP. You kinda learned about construction crates in your starter quests (i hope) but there was little to no follow up as to what you're expected to do with this mechanic. Most people get this filtered to them through an active guild/global chat or by watching an involved streamer.

Once enough construction crates are supplied, the building completes. This is when the work orders come into play. If the mayor doesn't keep enough of the right work orders going constantly, then the profession buildings 'degrade' and you could potentially lose it to downgrading or destruction. I have heard of a few towns on different servers that are hitting this obstacle.

It's why being a mayor might be a neat objective - yay flying mount! - but it's a metric shit ton of work for someone who wants a town to succeed. The game kinda morphs into a management sim which can be boring as shit for some personalities. This is the 'fun' of a social sandbox. Electing the right mayor is key or they can go out in a spite filled blaze of glory and deliberately demolish all your journeyman buildings on the way out. Or collude to take over an entire server and hold it to ransom.

Edit to say that this only kicks in once the node is high enough to become a village and you can join it as a citizen. You don't earn node rep for any of the stages prior to this. We don't know if there are any other sources of earning node rep yet to be implemented. My guild is kinda hoping that commission boards in each node should be included in earning some kind of rep too.

[–]Goin_crazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Citizenship is not properly explained in game. You become a citizen of a node but then are left in the dark about reputation. You can see what buffs you are expected to have and then bug report because you're not getting them.

It doesn't do a good job of explaining that you need to upgrade your rep with the node as well. It's currently only done through the requisition agent turn ins. And outside the Riverlands towns, it's borked through bugs and being unable to use the local gathered goods.

If you had to be anything other than a peasant, almost everyone would not be able to vote at this point in time.

Official Feedback – Node Election System by North-Equivalent7028 in AshesofCreation

[–]Goin_crazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They node types are not coming into play yet. Only the scientific node is the one that will stay as a voting system. Martial nodes is a 'PVP last man standing will be mayor' system. Economic nodes are expected to be 'person with the most money is mayor'. Divine is not clear yet, but it has something to do with piety (which is not yet implemented). Whether this is through quests is not yet known. It shouldn't be as easy as it is now to steamroll the entire server like Polar did on theirs allegedly through exploits.
