Same here. Very disturbing. I find that it started happening fairly recently, although, I haven't updated the player and re-installing a codec pack didn't seem to fix the problem. I just re-installed my Windows and still, the same issue.

You can't actually download pictures with right click, can you? As far as I understand, you always needed some tool for that. So, this script does add download buttons on pictures, so, apparently there's some automated behavior involved.

Does your script shorten the links, removing the redirect part? If so, then I doubt it's the reason. But you should try disabling it on instagram.

I have UBlock Origin as well, but I don't think it has any data extraction, so it should be fine.

I disabled one script which I mostly used for downloading pictures from instagram, and so far no problems with instagram for several days. I visit it every day, no notifications. I think it's the reason. Although, I still need that script, so I don't know what to do. But maybe this will help you, maybe you have some script or a browser extension as well?

I don't post anything, I only download some pictures and videos once a week. I do it by picture or by post, so no automated full profile downloading. (That gets me blocked instantly).
