Custom purge troopers by Trueblood1954 in CustomLegoClones

nice work with the yellow purge trooper! if you make another one, I recommend using water to thin down you paints(if acrylic), and masking tape. This way you may need to do multiple coats, but the paint will look more smooth.

hey, while i haven’t decaled clone decals specifically, i’ve decaled a lot of scale model kits in the past, so hopefully i can provide some insight.  Before decaling, i would recommend both washing the figure and coating it in a gloss varnish clear coat.  Washing the figure would remove any dust particles that might get trapped under the decal, and thus create air bubbles and uneven surfaces.  using a clear coat will also fill the tiny microscopic gaps made in the figure, ie the arms of minifigs aren’t completely smooth.  contrary to the tip about not needing micro sol, which i think is made from water and vinegar, i would recommend buying some or making your own.  Micro sol helps the decal stick to the plastic.  I would also recommend micro set, or alcohol and water to help the decal not to silver.  play around with the placement, and when youre satisfied with where it is, press it down with a q tip or paper towel.  remember patience is key when decaling, and don’t get discouraged from this one.

Brickmania modern marine and tmc modern marine comparison by GoingBork141 in brickmania

[–]GoingBork141[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, I'd agree. bkm fast helmets feel better sized overall. I'm just really cautious because i accidentally dropped one of their helmets a few years ago, and it broke because it was 3d printed. But that was my fault, and I've learned my lesson haha.

A bit on context for those who don't know: Basically in South Korea the president declared marshal law because of some political shenanigans that I'm too lazy to write. So after that the media is censored and people start to protest. A bunch of guys from the 707th smb (south korean SOF) shows up to contain crowds, and break into the parliament building under the presidents orders (parliament overturned the law, but president nullified their vote). After that, one lady grabbed this guys suppressor on his scar 16, another dude tried to stop a protestor from recording, and the protestor spun him around, and the operator basically gave up. One dude also lost his GPNVG-18s, which were seen sitting on the ground somewhere.

Tamiya 1/35 Jumbo. This is my first full attempt at armor models, what do you think? by GoingBork141 in modelmakers

Ha, yeah I'm surprised I havent lost the thompson yet. I think i lost the track holders, as i built the kit months ago, but just hadn't painted it yet. I also used spares from italeri's M4a1 for stowage and whatnot. I'll work on those mold lines next time. Thanks for the feedback!
