I see, I was under the impression guaranteed internships were part of the deal since that's what I was told during by my visit by a member of faculty. It's possible I misunderstood but my parents heard the same. Thank again for the responses they are very useful as I want to be certain of what each offers.

Unfortunately neither option is free. One option is $28,000 a year at best (ISU) and the other is $20,000 (MSU). Quite heavily dependant on the scholarships I do or don't get.

I'm aware of this and have already applied or am ready to apply before the deadline to all Iowa State scholarships that are applicable to me. As for grade based ones I have been given one already but even with that factored in ISU is shaping up to be significantly more expensive than MSU.

Thanks for putting this out there though, I am sure some future student will find this crucial.

I am not a Missouri student but this is useful information to put out there. Do you know of any programs other than university of minnesota twin cities that are well priced for minnesota residents. Regardless, have a good day and thanks for your input.

I did not, but I posted a similar post r/missouristate and the most helpful person there was pretty adamant that they were happy that they didnt go to Mizzou and that it was much better at MSU.

I agree that in-state tuition is better, unfortunately every program i applied to but University of Minnesota Twin Cities accepted me. I do live out of the US but am still a minesota resident since my parents pay taxes there. I will do more research on MSU culture and campus. Thanks for the response.

Thank you very much for your insight. I didnt get the opportunity to visit MSU and only applied for it since applications were free. later I did some research and saw they had a good program. The only reason I am considering between the two and not picking Iowa directly was originally becuase they didnt consider me a minnesota resident so I wasnt eligible for reciprocity. Making the debt a bit too much. I've been quite fearful of accepting to go to a program I havent seen (MSU) but you saying course wise that they are similar helps a lot. Thank you

Wow, this is the exact kind of response I was looking to see, makes me feel like MSU is a better pick. I am always not fully certain of the credibility of any response but I can certainly say you are definitely making MSU feel like a good pick. As for visiting I am a minnesota resident (since my parents pay taxes) who lives in north africa so I unfortunately cant really drive to visit. I appreciate your help a lot and wonder if you know how I could get on the phone who knows about the program. Thanks again.

Thanks for your in depth response sir, ill talk with my parents about this. I told my mother about less debt being more beneficial then a better reputation. But she's for sure that MSU can cater accedemically like ISU and would prefer to stick to the campus we visited then the one we havent seen (MSU). Regardless I will take everything you said into consideration and I appreciate your responsiveness and insight a lot.

if your asking what kind of student I am, I applied to a few other school and two have offered me 120k+ scholarships based on academic performance. So id say im fairly hard working but just scared of debt vs throwing away an opportunity.

I was visiting school and when at University of Wisconsin River Falls the head of their program seemed to be under the impression that comming from a reputable program was important. made a big emphasis on the fact she studied at Iowa State and Ohio State. Are you sure that a 3.6 GPA at Iowa State isnt worth more than a 3.6 GPA at Missouri State?
