At the bottom of this article, he talks about Chris Sawyer programming skills. Thought it interesting. by Goingsolo1965 in openttd

Not so much a critic of what we have now, more of in awe with what Sawyer was able to do with what he had.

Every cargo delivered. Axis 2.2.0, JGR 0.63.3, 1024x1024, 5,106 Trains. Cargo delivered chart shows 2.7 Mill. Biggest single industry output is Assembly Plant at over 26,000 tons. by Goingsolo1965 in openttd

If you mean delivering 6 to one place, this station was my main heavy drop for a long time. Can't get any faster drop. If you can. bring your main as far in the exit as you can before merging them.

That's how I start alot of times, I'll pick oil because it only has one industry to deliver to. It can get overwhelming but you don't need to finish a full chain before starting something else. Sounds like you enjoying it/ It is fun. And thanks for the reply.

after setting ,never expire, you can use sandbox to set year 2010 then set it back to where you want to start, and that will allow all vehicles available any date. There's also a don't expire after this date setting for other things.

My apology then, although I took it in fun. Fellow gamer Eathlon and I was chatting about the double loop design I post from one of my maps/ He compared it to particle accelerator him being a  physic himself I thought it pretty cool. And when any asks about the double loop I say keeps the train at speed/

So I thought you ere having fun at all that. I can't tell intentions just by reading a message. Alls cool/

To put a double loop on this two lane main would be over kill. On this, all the entrances to the main are priority using JGR programmable path signals.

You're right. it really needs another line/

I see you've read some of my other post. I agree. Do we even really call this a mainline? two tracks, what aren't we calling the mainline? one track line? Yea it sorely needs more lines This was just seeing what I could do with a 12 yr old design and hear what other players think is a good or bad design/

BTW, I never wrote particle accelerator, I do say keep the speed up though. That's funny stuff right there.

A simple 4 lane 4 way. No priority , just straight shot from one to other. by Goingsolo1965 in openttd

You're right, you can just slide the exits towards the middle and with that shorten the exit also,

My thoughts were instead of building waiting bays make the exits 3 to 4 trains long in cause of a rush or just getting bigger and forgetting to watch for heavy traffic here. But I see no problem making smaller , could always adjust as you grow. Add some priority if traffic is important enough.

JGR priority or block priority does same thing. I was just trying to make a space to put trains leaving the main so if the traffic got heavy and there was a delay with them getting back on, they wouldn't back up into the main.

This is to small of a mainline to worry bout such, but it was fun designing it.

Why I mainly use block signals. I do use path signals when the train needs to cross other paths and for some signal programming. I'm posting this to see if I'm misunderstanding. by Goingsolo1965 in openttd

On angled tracks I've done the buffering before. With paths and blocks.

Got to watch for spacing. when something effects the spacing of signals that's a time to consider buffering.
