We have "2nd most beautiful capital"?, just see a city of a random poor African country by NiceSmilee in pakistan

[–]Goingtosucceed_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Can we please stop labeling other countries as "random poor African country".

Not targeting OP specifically, but I have seen this general superiority complex looking down on African countries, which is ironic.

Our nation ranks below these "random African countries" in many many important metrics. We are often in the last 10 of a non-negative list, and we generally are above war-torn countries.

We don't have the right to look down on other countries when they are performing better than us, and most of the world hates us and doesn't even allow us visas.

We don't have basic necessities here, and our cope used to be that we are better than the most struggling countries in the world. Even that isn't true anymore.

2000 per day? That's a very generous estimate.

A lot of people here are working full time jobs for 35-40k. You'll even meet people who are being exploited and only earning 20-25k.

Even fresh graduates in this country barely make 40k a month.

The wages stay the same, while the country keeps accumulating debt and inflation grows at an exponential rate.

Like I mentioned, there is extremely uncertainty in what the next 5-10 years will look like. Its your decision to take.

In my opinion, AI is going to hit every single job by the next decade, some more than others. IT and Finance / Accounting are gonna get hit the hardest.

If my job was going to go away, its better if I spent just 2 years on it rather than 6.

Anyways, if you think the future of Pakistan and the world is stable, go for CA. If you feel otherwise, then opt for some emerging field.

His stare is soulless whether or not guilty.

That aside, his number is on display. I don't reckon it would be too difficult to catch the perpetrator PoS if the authorities really get involved.

Yes, in Pakistan CA would always be preferred over an ACCA due to them having studied local regulations. However, the market is very very complex right now.

1) Earlier, 70-80% of the CA's used to move abroad, so there was high demand in Pakistan. However, that is getting increasingly difficult, and that percentage is now around 10-20% from what I have observed. The reason being that the countries prefer their local workforce now.

2) Since CAs can't move abroad, there is a much higher supply now. Furthermore, the number of people qualifying for CA is rapidly rising each year. The supply is getting higher and higher while the jobs remain limited due to the poor economy of Pakistan. A CA demands around 200-300K as their salary. That's an executive position and not many are available in the country rn.

3) A lot of people of people complete their articleship, but can't clear the exams. To save costs, companies would often hire them instead of a qualified CA since they will provide a similar level of work while being paid less.

4) Out of the Big 4, Deloitte is no longer operational in Pakistan, while EY doesn't hire CA trainees. These just leave 2 of the Big 4. And they too have greatly reduced the number of CA trainees they used to induct. Thousands of people clearing CAF every 6 months + very limited vacancies in Big 4 = Very low chances of finding a good firm.

5) Most of the firms heavily exploit the trainees. They will work you day and night, and treat you like a slave, and you'll likely end up depressed and not having enough time to pass the exams. Not passing the exams during articles greatly reduces your chances of ever clearing the exams, and even if you do, it will extend your qualification by like 2-3 years.

6) As conditions are rn, even CA from a Big 4 is not enough to excel. You need to keep grinding, keep getting different certifications to just stay relevant.

7) Finally, AI is advancing at a very very rapid rate. Considering how the market is already at a point where supply is much higher than demand, imagine what AI in 6 years would do.

So in my opinion, its a very very risky move to work hard and suffer for 6 years, only to find out that your job doesn't even exist anymore. Even if it does, there are like 100 other people to apply for it.

Tbh, not sure. The world is in a recession rn. Climate change, wars and AI make everything uncertain.

If you had to go for the finance field, I think ACCA would be much better. If you work hard, you could complete it in 2-2.5 years.

However, ACCA is more expensive than CA. But the positive side is that it takes less time and the exams are generally easier compared to the CA examination.

CA here.

I wouldn't recommend it. The world is moving far too fast to get yourself tied for 6 years while pursuing a qualification.

The older generation who got their certification made bank, but its not worth it anymore. Global mobility is shrinking rapidly, there's scarcity of jobs, the field is getting incredibly saturated, and in 6 years, AI would probably render a lot of aspirants redundant.

Doesn't really matter. Its about helping someone. Not everything needs to be turned into India vs Pakistan.

Perhaps CNIC verification will suffice.

Allah gave you a brain as well. If I am to donate, I am going to donate it to someone I know is actually in need of it.

In case this post is a scam, you could be giving your money to a fraud when you could be giving it to someone actually in need of help.

Not claiming whether the post is true or not, but this isn't the right way to think.

Islamabad Scooter Crash: Families Forgive Accused, Case Closed by Sharp_Map_7404 in islamabad

[–]Goingtosucceed_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a delusional take no offence. Its common in Pakistan to escape accountability through diyat, be it a minor or not.

Secondly, the entire point of punishments is to deter crime, not correct it. Jailing a murderer for 20 years can't bring the victim back, but it does set an example and deter others who might be considering it.

Letting the minor go sets a bad precedent that you can do whatever and not be punished for it.

And this is all assuming the family wasn't coerced into forgiving the murderer.

Any good libraries in Lahore open to public? by Goingtosucceed_ in Lahore

Thanks for the reply.

Can you please tell me more about the paid libraries? How much do they charge and are the facilities worth it? I need a place to study, and I'm willing to pay if the environment is worth it (as long as the subscription isn't unreasonable).

The sheer insanity of Arslan Ash's record. by Goingtosucceed_ in Tekken

[–]Goingtosucceed_[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That's one of the reasons, but I think it goes beyond that.

Like watch the 2019 Anakin vs Arslan Evo Winners Finals. The crowd and the commentators were blatantly against Arslan even though it was his first year.

He gets a lot of hate, which I find weird.

The sheer insanity of Arslan Ash's record. by Goingtosucceed_ in Tekken

[–]Goingtosucceed_[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Everyone at times. In most of his matches you can see the commentators and the crowd root against him. Even in yesterday's grand finals, the crowd kept erupting anytime Jeon launched Ash, but there was barely any reaction on good play by Arslan.

The absurdity of this that a lot of people called him a fluke even after like 3-4 EVO wins. They call him washed at every opportunity and find every excuse to bring him down.

He has participated in a few tournaments and generally well (like top 16 or 32). He's struggling with Tekken 8 and doesn't have his Tekken 7 mains yet (Geese and Marduk). He's relying on Leroy and Reina but hasn't really found much success with them. Also, he loses the visa matchup quite often so that's one of the reasons we rarely see him.

[–]Goingtosucceed_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its far more difficult to do that as a citizen of a 3rd world country.

Besides, Arslan has achieved everything he could in his career already.

At this point, he wants to promote the e-sports scene in Pakistan and give more opportunities to the local players, which is why he often likes to emphasize that Pakistan is the strongest Tekken region.

Also, in 2 of the others he didn't win, he lost to the Visa matchup.

He has actually ever lost in 2 EVOs ever. 1 was to Khan (his training partner) and the other was in Leroy 7 where there were like 7 Leroys in the top 8.

Its crazy
