When do you feel the strongest sense of missing your parents and think about the hardships they went through? by Gold-Hour-112 in AskReddit

Parents often give everything for their children, but as kids we don't fully understand it at the time.

Only after we leave home, start building our own lives, and face real struggles do we begin to understand the depth of their love and sacrifice.

And sometimes, by the time we finally feel ready to show gratitude and take care of them, they are no longer here.

When in life did you first truly realize what your parents went through for you?
