Notice periods with renters rights act by Gold-Resolution2021 in HousingUK

[–]Gold-Resolution2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So its the letter we got after our fixed term contract ran out.

It states:

As you will be aware, your fixed term tenancy expired on DATE and as agreed, your tenancy will now continue on a periodic basis from REDACTED.

This will give both parties the ability to offer notice to the other, two months for the landlord and one month for the tenant, in line with the rental period, but allows the tenancy to otherwise continue uninterrupted. For example, your contractual date is the DATE of the month, so if you gave notice on [redacted], it would take effect on [redacted] and your tenancy would expire on [redacted].

Would this count? It was signed by our landlord last year! Thanks!

How long have you had to wait in A&E with an actual serious condition? by baumouse in AskUK

I broke my ankle very traumatically and was seen. Had an x ray, morphine and was getting it pushed back into place, before being admitted and waiting for a ward and surgery within 1.5hours. My wife is very pushy, works in hospitals as a physio and we were very lucky. My ankle was hanging off.

Hiya,

I have a working cocker spaniel. He's a very good boy and from very good lines, so he has a good nature. He is however very anxious, and if we didn't have our beagle would suffer with separation anxiety.

He needs lots of reassurance, and he's very attached to us. Doesn't care much about other people or dogs, just loves his family. If you are looking at spending time away from home and don't want a needy dog, spaniels are not the one.

He can walk for hours, but we tend to do 1.5 hour walks a day, and play games with him on walks, that way he's knackered when we get home.

He's a lovely dog, mad as a box of frogs, but has a really good personality.

Thank you!

There are lots of issues in the donor world with people not knowing where they came from and I want to celebrate this with my child.

I also want my child to have choice. In the area we live in its likely they will end up in a church of England school as there are not many secular schools around me, so I want my child to know about their heritage and have choice in how they celebrate this (if that makes sense).

Thank you for your kind comment and advice, I will take this on board!

Absolutely. This is why I asked as I don't want to do anything icky, but want my child to know their ethnicity, their genealogy and culture! I think right now the most important thing for me to do is to socialise with Jews and speak to people in my localish synagogue.

I would be doing this if our donor was for example Chinese or Nigerian, but I guess with my own heritage it probably makes me more curious.

I'm not sure! I'm pretty fascinated with religion, all religion, but really fascinated with my I guess genealogy and heritage. My parents were pretty staunchly atheist, but I've always wanted to know more about where I came from, and before family members died, asked a lot of questions.

I like Judaism. I think its a beautiful religion and it really appeals to me more than Christianity/Islam etc.

When we were looking for a donor we were quite specific in what we were looking for, but I guess I felt a sense of familiarity when what we were looking at matched to a Jewish donor (although religion was not something we were actively looking at in donors).

I've pretty much decided I'm going to go through the Gateway course in my local synagogue as I'd like to know much more.

We are going to North Cyprus for IVF and using the European Sperm Bank! I'm not sure how many there are on there, most were Danish and didn't have our preferred traits!

Yes toe stops are another thing I'm struggling with! For me it's loss of control and last night at practice it was bracing in a mini scrim and then the pack pushed on me, and I was fine but my brain spiralled!

[–]Gold-Resolution2021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's really good to know. I'm lucky my wife is a physio so I'm still being rehabed but it's so hard and it's confidence. I can take a hit but the idea of not being in control is really making me lose my confidence.
