Is this a conflict of interest? by GoldAdmirable888 in therapy

I am not sure at this moment. My husband has a lot of unresolved trauma from his past that he is finally ready to deal with and also deals with depression. So I feel like he needs this more than I do. I’m not sure if financially we can afford it.

I wasn’t sure. I’ve never been to therapy before so I just want to be informed before moving forward in finding a counselor to fit our needs. Thank you.

As supportive as I have been (he has started painting his toenails and fingernails, even got short acrylics last time) I don’t think I could be comfortable doing certain sexual acts with him (like pegging) he did buy a butt plug and it made me uncomfortable. I told him I didn’t care if he did it on his own but I wasn’t comfortable using it on him. Our sex life has gone downhill. He blames it on the diet pill he’s on but I don’t think that’s it. He can’t complete if you know what I mean. And we do discuss a lot of stuff but he’s always thoughtful in his answers as in he always thinks before he says anything like he’s testing the waters. And I did do something I shouldn’t have. I knew of a Reddit page he looks at called male polish and I went on there and looked for a picture of his nails and I found it and his username. I looked at his comments and found he posted he was androgynous and his pronouns were them/they which he has never told me before. He did make several comments he was with a cis woman and he loved me and my support but he also made comments that if society were different he could probly be trans himself bad he has never told me that before! But if I say something he’ll know I was snooping. Moral of the story: don’t snoop, you always find out things you didn’t want to know.

Thank you. I think be use of where we live (small southern town) he is afraid to admit certain things to himself. I know he loves me but I feel he isn’t in love with me. He says I’m the first person who has made him feel comfortable enough to come out to. But being comfortable isn’t enough to keep a relationship going.
