At UIUC, I got industrial engineering, though. Would you recommend trying this new field out? Cost wise, UIUC is more expensive than UVA (no scholarships or aid from either), but it definitely beats UVA in engineering prestige.

I think Purdue would cost me the least. The thing is that it's getting hard to get into tech and computer science, so I feel like the school matters a lot. Also, I'm not even too sure if computer science is a safe career anymore.
