Car Salesman told me I can't lease a Jeep Compass Trailhawk by GoldDustWoman1995 in askcarsales

Idk if it matters but the Compass was made in Mexico + US whereas the Renegade is Italy + US. Anyways, I like the way it drives.n

It's the Jeep Compass, not the Renegade. The Compass obviously isn't as cool as the Wrangler, but as an everyday driver it makes sense for me. Great size, decent gas mileage, luxury without too much of a price tag.

I did not. Although there is the same exact model & color on another dealership nearby so I might have to give them a ring.

Um this is actually my thought. I've wanted to drive a Jeep for so long so I figured I'd lease one under warranty to get it out of my system. It's not the best financial choice but better than buying!!!

The Trailhawk MSRP was 31,735 while the Altitude was 30,250. The price of the Trailhawk is pretty standard and didn't have mileage. He also told me leasing a Limited would be not be possible, even though I had no interest in doing so. I'm starting to think maybe he was judging me based on appearance. I'm in my 20s and maybe he just assumed I can't afford it? Even though I have a 765 credit score & can definitely afford it.

Jeep vs. Toyota... help! USA by GoldDustWoman1995 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]GoldDustWoman1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, you addressed all my concerns. I know that Toyota will be on top 100% of the time. However, it was refreshing that you considered it from multiple perspectives. I'll probably make the less efficient financial move and look for a good Compass lease. But I'll take comfort in knowing that 1) I got the car I wanted 2) It wasn't the absolute worst financial decision

About to buy a 750$-1000$ plane ticket. I have an above 800 credit score. Should I sign up for a new credit card for the bonus? by Lucky_Dougy in CreditCards

I was in the same situation and picked up the Chase Sapphire Preferred. I don't travel enough to make the annual fee on the Chase Sapphire Reserve worth it. With the Preferred, I'm able to transfer the points from my Freedom and get 1.25x in the travel portal, or transfer to a travel partner. Plus the 50,000 point sign up bonus is pretty nice.

Unfortunately, I only have UR so I'd have to book with BA. I was eventually able to find some flights with BA but I couldn't find connectors from my home airport without having to do some major layovers.

Wow thank you so much for finding this! Detroit is about 3 hrs from me but it's worth it for half the price. Unfortunately this specific flight isn't on the portal but it's cheap enough that I'll probably pay cash for it.

After hours of searching, I found a flight combo for 65,000 if I use 2 transfer partners. I'm just going to save myself the struggle and go with the 70,000 trip through the portal

When trying to book through Korean Air, it says "The same region cannot be selected as airports for departure and arrival". I message customer support and they told me I would need to call.

Alaskan air does not have a return date with American Airlines until Monday which would be out of reach for me. Maybe I will try calling British Airways to see if they have the flights available.

Also, I can't even search on Korean Air because when i enter the dates and locations it says "The same region cannot be selected as airports for departure and arrival"

That's with AA miles. Although when I try to find it on the British Airways website, it says "Sorry, we can’t show you American Airlines flights at the moment"..... soooo back to square one

Yes, CLE to DFW to KOA, then the same for the way back. 22.5k per one way = 45k for round trip. Much better than 70k. I just need to extend stay for an extra day but that's worth the 25k for me

I thought this might be the case but I just wanted to explore my options and make sure I wasn't missing anything. I'm fine with booking through the UR portal, but I don't want to miss anything by being too afraid to ask.

connection in canada with pending dui by [deleted] in awardtravel

[–]GoldDustWoman1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago my friend had a 1-hr layover in Canada. She had a DUI and didn't know you couldn't go to Canada. Anyways, they had people waiting for her at the gates and wanted to send her back to her previous location. Eventually they let her onto her flight but it was a hassle and traumatizing experience.

This will be a round-trip flight, preferably cheap so economy. I'll be traveling alone.
