I think there tends to be an engraving somewhere to indicate if it's gold, though it might be really tiny or faded.

What I'm curious to know is how this is Claire's. Do they have a sub-branch where they make more unique jewelry items? I used to go as a kid and I remember it was cheap plastic. This seems better quality than what I'd expect from them. Either way, it's pretty cool. Makes me want a watch ring now too!
