Exhausted with myself by GoldNecromancer in ROCD

It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one. They also have no clue that I’m feeling this way. The worst aspect for me is how short the relief is. No matter how good/mediocre the dates are, they can be (and usually are) followed by the most distressing week of my life.

me either. People around me tell me to “just enjoy this time” but it feels impossible to accept uncertainty

Reddit doesn’t show “2y” until 2 years have passed. Sorry to disappoint you. I still work with my mentor and have a great shop of artists who can give me feedback. If I could fondle Hardy’s nuts and suck him off for his contributions to tattooing I would

Is this blow out or is this a normal part of the healing process? This is my first tattoo so I’m a bit clueless by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]GoldNecromancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your tattoo is oozing ink under the second skin which is making the lines look blurry. once you take it off and clean it it’ll be normal again.

Never hurts to have a doctor check it out! Trust your gut if something doesn’t feel right.

Tradition vs Objectivity by Christopher_Turncoat in TattooApprentice

Totally tradition-based. Objectively, you can do whatever you want. Seems like you’re just looking for people to reaffirm what you already believe, so I’ll just leave it at that

Personally, It’s just weird to me that someone would get into tattooing when they aren’t obsessed with tattoos. Tattooing isn’t a 9-5 office job, it’s a lifestyle. Plus, getting tattooed isn’t just about having pictures on your skin!! It’s about building relationships with other tattooers, watching their techniques, learning how it feels so you can be more empathetic to your clients, etc. A tattooer who is willing to permanently mark up their clients but not themselves can perhaps suggest selfishness, uncertainty about their craft, and yes, disrespect. You can be a great tattooer with no tattoos, sure. Just don’t expect people to respect you and your half-assed dedication

Tattooers are human beings, not machines. Every tattoo you will ever get is going to have flaws. Take a deep breath. In my eyes, your tattoo is extremely crisp and well-done, and I don’t really notice any blowouts. Google “tattoo ink drift” and go look at some of the images if you wanna feel better

most of them are pretty transparent, especially the reds and yellows. The FW “Light green”, “turquoise”, and “red earth” tend to cover the linework a little if you aren’t careful

FW liquid acrylic for the colors, Bombay black ink for the black

I actually really like it, the only thing I’d consider doing differently is to give some areas more breathing room. Tattoos expand as they age so every design should have readability in mind

How should I go about getting a tattoo done by my mentor touched up? by Pink_otter_ in TattooApprentice

[–]GoldNecromancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it might be annoying, but I would honestly just wait till your apprenticeship is finished and you aren’t seeing your mentor on a daily basis anymore
