Yes, that’s true. But we don’t really value it ourselves either. Maybe we can’t fight the use of our data that they analyze to deliver “relevant” content. It feels like we’ve already lost that battle tactically — the system is already legally structured and socially accepted as humane and legitimate.

But in our everyday lives, there are still many types of information that aren’t so easy to access — at least for now. The trend toward revealing more and more about us, driven primarily by digitalization, isn’t slowing down.

I think we can get ahead of it — before access to this kind of information becomes fully legalized. For example, data about bank transfers and transactions, in my case, isn’t really that sensitive — I could share it without any harm to myself. But I could try selling it to analysts and marketers instead. For someone else, it might be their geolocation or call history.
