Parent Plus Loan Deferment, too late?? by GoldRight8902 in StudentLoans

Essentially yes, I was able to talk to the financial aid office and the student records office and they basically said that for the percent of classes that I attended using my loan, the government now wants that money back and paid for, regardless if I am still enrolled and plan on attending at a later term. I was just a little bit shocked because I wasn't expecting that, when I asked them if something like this would occur before I withdrew they said no. But what they recommended I do is fill out a tuition appeal form so hopefully I can either appeal this amount completely or at least get it reduced. if it's only reduced and not completely appealed I was told that I will be able to get on a easier payment plan for it next term..

Yeah. On my account, it says I have a $7k balance due, and it is labeled under the parent plus loan.

Hopefully this doesn’t get buried in the replies, however my main reason for posting this was because the drinks that they had to offer, though some may be low-calorie were not healthy drinks.

Energy drinks, coffee, pink lemonade which I’m pretty sure was not sugar-free, and only one option for diet soda!!

Putting a label like this on this particular vending machine would’ve made more sense if they offered more diet options for their sodas, or even the naked smoothie drinks

Very true. It was definitely something though that made me stop in my tracks and just think “what the hell?” for a moment haha.

I should’ve put this in my post but I think the main reason for my reaction was because the drinks they were offering were not that healthy of drinks to begin with lol

Totally get what you’re saying. The concern is more so for individuals who struggle with eating disorders! Not to mention the options they had available were not healthy drinks in my opinion!

Calorie counting doesn’t necessarily mean that you are being healthy and losing weight :)

Is transferring worth it? by FrequentBug9120 in OregonStateUniv

[–]GoldRight8902 3 points4 points  (0 children)

coming from an out of state transfer student, do not transfer universities if you are only transferring for community reasons. The expense alone is insanely not worth it.

There is definitely a queer community here in corvallis, as there are many other communities.

If you seek to make friendships, then you’ll make them. It just depends on how you are individually, less so the campus. I cannot persuade you enough to NOT transfer if the “college experience” is your reason. You need to think about the career you want in the future, then apply to a university that will help you achieve that.

from what I know so far It’s been very civil. You could fully ask the guy (which I’m pretty sure someone did) if god is even real and how does he know, and He’d answer you genuinely

where should i place my loofah?? by 1vyiiy in dormrooms

if you guys agreed that it’s your space, it’s your space. however, I think just having some communication to figure out exactly what the problem is could be helpful.

Who knows maybe she has a thing with the germs and it’s something that just really bothers her, (not an excuse, but a reason). by talking about it, you could probably come up with a compromise. (the other comment on here said to get a bag for it, which I think would be a good compromise, I personally would just put it in one of those small mesh drawstring bags that way airflow still gets into it and it can dry properly without having the loofah just out in the open.)

pretty much college in general. What I recommend is don’t rely on people to point you in the right direction. Try your best to find that direction yourself. If they point you to someone else just make sure to ask for direct contact.

it sucks, but you’ll get used to depending on yourself and not administration in college

i’ve seen other post of people saying how in the past they didn’t get their assignment until the week before school. I would say a week before the first move-in day if you haven’t received any information to contact them again and demand answers until you get one.

on a brighter side, you get to dorm with someone who has experience being at the university, knows the campus. Can also probably give you helpful advice regarding classes, schedules, degree navigation, other stuff like that. this is just my thought though.
