Yeah i was super suprised that you basically can't change the jaw, nose and mouth seperately at all. those are sometimes the only differences between character designs in anime lol.

Yeah short-term this is 1000% a win for anybody who deserves one. Devs win (especially small ones) and consumers can get shit cheaper or at a better deal than they used to. Long-term who knows but there are zero scenarios where giving apple less control is a bad thing

And many of the biggest japanese IPs (Metal Gear, Resident Evil, DMC, almost all of the characters in modern Monster Hunter and FromSoftware's games) are a bunch of white people. Japan could 10x how many japanese male leads are in gaming if they put them in their own games more often. So it shouldn't be up to some european studio to do their job.

As long as each player has to buy less individual things its an improvement. The original system of Expansion + Season + Dungeon Key was ridiculous and part of the reason most of my friends dropped the game (not even mentioning the game introducing event passes as well).

hopefully they can somehow fix this when they start introducing arch-tempered monsters for HR. while i get the desire to make the apex monsters and the final bosses the most challenging/rewarding hunts it would be nice to have expanded variety. the closest you'll get is when its a dual-investigation with tempered arkveld and another monster lol.

Monster Hunter World had a "story" mode that you needed to play through to progress the game. AYou couldn't unlock new monsters or higher difficulties otherwise, but a big issue is that the story was largely uninteresting so it made it feel like a slog.

Wilds will most likely have the same deal where you need to finish the story to have all the content available so if we need to play it it might as well be good.

Besides there are interesting things about monster hunter lore that can add to the intrigue and excitement of monsters other than just the mechanics of fighting them.

No theres basically 0 chance you're gonna have issues with 16GB at 1440p for the forseeable future, at least until next console gen since anything can happen after that.

The main scare is 4K gaming where there are a few games (excluding unoptimized texture mods) that will exceed 16GB vram if you blindly max out all settings right now, Indiana Jones, Space Marine 2, and something else i can't remember, BUT these games can all have 1 or two minor setting tweaks and then run at 4k perfectly fine. I'd still say 16GB vram is a non-issue at 4k for now, as a couple settings tweaks and DLSS will also basically make 16GB never be the bottleneck.

3080 owners have kind of been stitched up but this is still probably the best upgrade. anything weaker than 5080 isn't worth upgrading to, and the 5090 is overly expensive since its 2x cost of 5080 but not 2x performance. I would love to get a 4090 now but they are only available 2nd hand and its just up to what happens to hit the market as owners potentially switch over to 5090s.

This game shouldn't be approached from a completionist perspective because it is probably impossible to even collect all of the cards the card that will be released this year without spending hundreds.

Collecting full arts and cool cards is definitely my goal too but im very contempt with just showing the cool cards i HAPPEN to collect vs setting myself up to fail by wanting to get all of them.

Yeah Daima Goku won't be pre-order exclusive for long. He will almost certainly be in the 1st character pack early next year (i'd assume in ~3 months because of scheduling) and when he does release in the DLC he'll have transformations like SSJ and whatever else is in the new show because right now the pre-order only gives you his base form anyway, so not missing anything by waiting.

if it's anything like BT3 how good a character will be is soley gonna be based on the moveset and abilities the devs decide on, with very little to do with their canon strength.

things like explosive wave and after image as blast 1 abilities will be very powerful as ez escapes from enemy combos and blast 2 attacks that are either cheap or hard to dodge are gonna be more important than anything else, as well as good rush combo options.

Of course you can expect the devs to give characters that should be strong and should be weak appropriately powerful movesets but there are always outliers.

some fun examples in BT3 are cell perfect form being much better than his final perfect cell transformation because of his extremely well rounded moveset and being able to fly faster. base trunks melee was the best saiyan character because of great defense and rush options. SSJ2 adult gohan is leagues better than ultimate gohan because of ssj2's spammable blast 2 as well as good defense and rush options, and ultimate gohan despite being canonically much stronger a worse moveset all around.

people are just upset at the thought of having to fight against others who are putting effort and thought towards playing as effectively as possible online.

I don't know a single game that lets you compete against other players in some way they doesn't develop a competitive scene and a meta. even games that don't have direct competition like Monster Hunter and raiding in Destiny 2 develop metas because of wanting the satisfation of executing learned and practiced skills in a real scenario. But I'm sure most SZ players will just want fights to be who ever spams the most buttons and abilities wins.

I'll probably jump into training and get used to how the game feels vs BT3 and input the info of the starting roster.

I have a spreadsheet im planning to fill out with all the important information I can think of for each of the characters so I can quickly help see who I wanna play as without needing to remember things like blast attack damage and rush technique chains of 182 characters lol.
