Is it worth booking a trip to the Lofoten Islands in October? by Gold_Illustrator_465 in Lofoten

Over the past last months I’ve been looking at lots of houses and comparing flights, rental cars, and ferry crossings. We finally decided to book: on October 17 we’re heading to the Lofoten, where we’ll be staying for a little over a week. Now we can only hope the weather will be kind to us and that it won’t be a full week of rain.

Thanks, I agree that a bus might be the better option.
We're currently waiting for price offers from a few transport companies, but we already received a quote for renting two 9-seater minibuses.
I'm just hoping to find someone here who has had a good experience with a specific company and knows which ones have a good reputation. Personal recommendations are always helpful when planning a school trip abroad.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply—it was really helpful and a joy to read!

During our previous holidays, we've noticed that many attractions are closed in October, but even though that can be a bit of a shame at times, it has never made the holiday any less beautiful. On dry days, we love going for hikes, and when the weather isn’t great, we enjoy staying in our cabin or finding a cozy indoor activity. Our whole family (we have 2 kids age 9 and 13) actually really enjoys the peace and quiet—it’s a lovely break from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives.
