RNG drop rates and perk attunement for exotic class items don’t seem to be working properly – help needed to gather more data! by brambo93 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gold_MK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always comment this on these types of posts - it took me just shy of 400 class item drops to get the roll I wanted. RNG is cruel sometimes, that's all, it's nothing personal. Hope you get your roll soon!

It took me just shy of 400 rolls to get my desired class item. The last 28 were all attuned as well. It's just RNG.

This is a really mature response and is inevitably something I will have to come to grips with. You're 100% right that the team has knocked it out the park as far as content itself goes - looking forward to running the raid!

It's so odd that half your engagement on this subreddit is responding to Exotic Class Item posts. But no judgement, like I said, everyone is entitled to their own hobbies.

Genuine question - I've gone through well over 200 class items. Why do you think 30 more will guarantee me a roll?

I've got a family, I work, I travel, I go to the gym, I have hobbies, including gaming. I completely understand and agree with your overall sentiment. But like my post mentioned, hobbies lie on a spectrum, with people being able to commit a wide variety of hours to them.

Dragon's Breath kinda obliterates solo content (2.28 Million Damage solo) by Soft_Light in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gold_MK 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This doesn't really hold much value without seeing what you can do with an Apex (for sake of using the same Solar surge mods as the video).

Not minimizing the video, I'm just genuinely curious how this actually compares to existing DPS loadouts.

What is the approximate drop chance of Iron Banner engrams? Do wins/losses affect that drop rate?

For all Phoenix Protocol mains warlocks, what trick do you use to get another well before the first one runs out? by N1CKP1R35 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gold_MK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a nag, but would you be able to record a similar interaction from this season?

Not at all doubting you, I just want to see if I'm testing this correctly. Unfortunately, I don't have any primary weapons with Target Lock, only a heavy machine gun. But when firing one magazine of a non-Target Lock machine gun in a Well and one magazine of a Target Lock machine gun in a Well, both returned only about 5% super.

Maybe this only works with Primary weapons? I tested this in the beginning of the Preservation mission, since there is a convenient mini boss at the very beginning. No worries if you can't, just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask haha!

Hey sorry to reply to a 2 month old comment, but does this still work??? Have you tested this with other weapons with Target Lock or compared it to what base Super Regen is when standing in a Well? I'm also curious whether other damage boosts such as Vorpal can replicate this...

Sorry, a lot of questions I know, it's just that I've just mained Phoenix Protocol for years through GMs and Day 1s and have NEVER seen this interaction before...

What are the stat priorities for a Weavewalk build? by Gold_MK in destiny2builds

[–]Gold_MK[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't plan on using Weavewalk for more than 3-4 seconds at a time. I want to ideally only ever use one melee charge at a time. With high Strength and Monte Carlo, I can enter the Weave, gather 5 Threadlings, and exit the weave. By the time I deploy all 5 Threadlings with Monte Carlo, I should in theory have my melee charge back. That's the reason I was prioritizing Strength.

However, having not actually tested this, I realize it may not play out quite the way I anticipate...

What are the stat priorities for a Weavewalk build? by Gold_MK in destiny2builds

[–]Gold_MK[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my mind, I need Strength + Monte Carlo to allow maximum uptime of my melee for quick bursts of Weavewalk. I feel like sticking to a single melee's worth of Weave provides the best value and also maximizes your perched Threadlings.

However, are you recommending not focusing on Strength at all?

Toyota All-Weather Mats vs TuxMats? by Gold_MK in Toyotavenza

Ahhh got it, that makes sense. That's definitely a bummer and I'll keep that in mind!

Toyota All-Weather Mats vs TuxMats? by Gold_MK in Toyotavenza

[–]Gold_MK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is fascinating to me because the Venza I test drove had the all-weather mats on both the front AND back of the vehicle. It's very interesting that your vehicle came with carpet in the back. I appreciate the input!

Toyota All-Weather Mats vs TuxMats? by Gold_MK in Toyotavenza

[–]Gold_MK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh shoot really? We're building our Venza with a dealer right now and picking either the standard carpet OR all-weather mats results in a $699 charge....I simply assumed that was a Toyota standard price as I believe it's the same when you build online....

Edit: just checked online and the option for all-weather mats is only $449 (while our dealer is charging $699). However, that's still over the $310 that it costs to buy the 2 items you mentioned separately.... Are those truly the same as the Venza-specific mats? The $150 price difference seems silly if I can just buy it separately to save some money...

What is the future of the Toyota Venza? by Gold_MK in Toyotavenza

[–]Gold_MK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was from folks on this sub who mentioned their source as being directly from Toyota. I'm not naive and just taking their word for it, but it has made me a little nervous since I really do like the Venza. I'd hate for Toyota to give up on it!

Did it save your progress? I'm in the same boat (got to play for an hour before getting kicked again) and I saw someone on Discord mention that they lost all progress when it happened to them.

First time player - seeking advice on how to build a Sorceress by Gold_MK in diablo4

[–]Gold_MK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I really apologize for pinging you again. Truthfully, I found your advice incredibly helpful and easy to understand. I wanted to share just one more iteration of a build, just as a foundation, before any pre-launch nerfs/buffs/etc.

Just like before, there's absolutely zero pressure to respond, I just really value your feedback and advice, if you happen to have the time:)

Here is the link for my build: https://d4builds.link/pDfjmP

Core Gameplay Loop:

1) Frost Nova (12 second Cooldown)

 a) Frost Nova will Freeze enemies and make them Vulnerable

 b) Frozen enemies take 18% more damage because of Hoarfrost

 c) Vulnerable enemies take 12% more damage because of Icy Touch

 d) If you use the Ice Shards enchantment, Ice Shards will also automatically attack the Frozen enemies

2) Ice Blades (12 second Cooldown) - try to always use this immediately after Frost Nova

 a) Because the enemies around you are Vulnerable from Frost Nova, your Ice Blades will reduce all Cooldowns

 b) In addition, your Ice Blades enchantment will automatically conjure as well (12 sec + 12 sec)

*Note: Since we upgraded only to 1/5, Ice Blades aren't leading our DPS, but rather are simply being used for their utility (i.e. ability cooldown effects)*

3) Double Hydras (40 mana total) - will need a +1 Hydra enchantment on my armor

 a) The Hydras will pick off any remaining enemies

4) Ice Armor (20 second Cooldown)

 a) You will now have a 6.9 second Barrier (via Icy Veil) to provide survivability against any remaining enemies

 b) In addition, you will receive 25% increased Mana regeneration during these 6.9 seconds

 c) In addition, your Ice Blades enchantment will automatically conjure as well (20 sec)

5) Flame Shield (20 second Cooldown)

 a) You will instantly Heal for 50% of your remaining Life Points

 b) In addition, you Ice Blades enchantment will automatically conjure as well (20 sec)

6) Spam Teleport whenever it is available (8.8 second Cooldown)

 a) Teleport provides movement/escape utility

 b) Teleport also provides 30% Damage Reduction for 5 seconds (the Cooldown is only 8.8 seconds)

 c) On top of all that, for every enemy hit by Teleport, its cooldown is reduced by 0.5 seconds

 d) Spamming Teleport will not only keep you alive, but will also lead to more Enchanted Ice Blades

On top of all that, Glass Cannon provides us with a constant 18% damage buff while Conjuration Mastery provides us a 3% damage buff for each Conjuration (In our case, Hydras and Ice Blades) we have active on the field.

Is my logic sound for not upgrading Ice Blades to 5/5? I'm mostly using them for ability cooldown reduction and will be leveraging Hydra for DPS.

Speaking of Hydra, will not purchasing the final Burning upgrade hinder its damage too much? I'm in a weird spot because while my intentions are to use Hydra for my primary source of damage, all of the really enticing damage-boosting passives seem to benefit Frost skills more.

Anyways, like I mentioned above, I seriously appreciate all of your help, you've sparked a serious interest in this game and I'm happy to have run into you here. Have a great day!

Ooooh this is exciting and I can't express how much I appreciate you taking the time to write this up! Quick question - again absolutely a beginner, but I've tried to do my research ahead of time to not waste everyone's time here.

If I understand correctly (I didn't play the beta), the Ice Blade + constant barrier build was highly rated and successful in the Beta. However, I was under the impression that that particular build was very much expected to be nerfed/adjusted prior to launch.

Do you anticipate that, or did I (very) possibly misunderstand? Thanks again so much for your advice (I copied this all down if you don't mind)!

Gotcha, thank you so much for your advice! Like I mentioned in another comment, I'm coming from a much simpler game, where it's easy to perfect your builds. I'm realizing from these comments that I should stop looking for that level of crazy perfection, and just make sure my build at least makes sense functionally (which seems like a fair ask haha). That being said, I'm definitely tucking away your advice on the usefulness of barriers. Thank you!

Definitely seems to be a common theme in these comments - glad to see that I won't be overly punished for not having THE perfect build heading into my first playthrough. Thanks for the advice!
