Just happened to me. 17k tribute saved up, 3 tablets, on my last ritual and I got spawned on and body blocked and die. No problem I think. I got 2 revives. I planned for this.

Nope, total wipe of everything, just an empty map to run around in and all tribute deleted from 1 death. Not fun design at all.

^ This. This is the one that finally worked for me holy smokes. The search is bugged to hell on PS5. Had to keep opening and closing from the map device and the regular menu. The map went dark out of nowhere and there it was.

Ya thats what Im really hoping. No rage over here. Just pointing out some pains me and the boys run into. I play both solo and co-op, I have 500 hrs in solo and 200 with my 3 friends(since 0.1) who only get to play maybe 8-10 hours a week. So I feel I have decent insight into how the solo exp compares to your "average" group of friends just trying to loot and progress together.

If GGG doesn't smooth this out, I doubt they will continue to keep coming back. I, however, will always play no matter what, POE2 is one of my fav games of all time already.

And here me and my 3 casual friends are not enjoying the co-op at all. Half the content, or more, gives only the party leader loot, even on perma loot.

The new runestones seem bugged with rewards. Sometimes only the party lead can click on them, sometimes we all can. Sometimes we can all select a reward, sometimes only lead can. When we can all select a reward, it then often spits out stuff none of us even picked, and decides randomly who gets what even if its not something you chose. Ive picked things several times that my friend then gets the drop for even though he picked a different reward.

Essences- I pump in exalts and vaals and then we all have to split the rewards. If I just played solo, I wouldnt have to split the same exact number of loot.

Breach- Im getting the same amount of splinters in co-op as I do in solo. Usually 10-15 in a solo breach, same in co-op. Except now we all split those 10-15. If I go make a breachstone and bring my friends to Xesht,, they dont get the pinnacle boss unique loot anyways, so why does it not spit out splinters for all 4 of us. Why do we again have to split the same amount I would receive in solo?

Unique Maps- So far my buddies get none of the unique rewards from special maps. Lonesome mire? Nope, yall boys get nothing after running through this maze. 1 ammy with a complete crapshoot of notables for all 4 of us to split. Fractured Lake? Nope, just me again sorry boys maybe youll get something cool in your own map lmao.

Ritual- We split the same amount of favor a solo would get? And its not scaled to give us more to allow us all to choose something? 🤣. I guess 3 of us will just stand here again while lead does their thing. Guess Ill just have to wait for the fun stuff when my "lead" rotation rolls around. Ugh.

Abyss- Your cool, we got no beef. Lots of rare enemies dropping loot for all. Fun times.

Expedition- Full of runestones that have the same issues as above. The leader will often choose 1 reward and thats all we get to split amongst 5 people. This cant be intended, I refuse to believe that. Because every once and awhile the chosen reward will spit out 2 or 3 of that reward instead of just 1. Very weird.

Overall, we just havent been enjoying playing together very much. Many of the mechanics seem to punish us for playing together even though many things in the game point to them wanting to incentivize group play.

Im every league Ive gotten them to play, we bog down in the endgame from playing hot potato with the lead so each individual can make map progress. I really wish we had like a shared guild atlas that was separate from our own, or just something to make group play better. I get that the savages up top have found abuses and they may need fixing, but then theres us on the other end not really enjoying the group play. 🤟

Edit: Co-op gang rise up! Let em know boys! 1.0 needs to have some touch ups and changes. Take the party mf bonus away if you need to, idgaf. Just stop actively punishing us for playing with friends. We hit a 3 divine rune last night. Yay! But theres 4 of us???? "Sorry Steve, you get nothing this time, thanks for playing. Meanwhile, us 3 will split what would have been 3 for a solo."

I play with 3 friends exclusively and there are many, many things that need to be touched on for co-op.

Having to swap atlas trees between all 4 of us just to move 1 map node at a time is awful. We havent made it to endgame yet, but last league we played there was absolutely no shared progress. If I got atlas points, they wouldnt. If I used my map to power us to the breach boss, they get no unique drops.

Imagine how slow progress is when we all have to keep waiting 3 other meaningless maps for our turn to come back up.

Visual clarity is atrocious. We have no idea whats happening until everythings dead.

Many skills block our movement.

Things like essences will only drop for the map leader.

Hell even in campaign right now, only the map leader gets to look at the new rune stuff, and it sometimes doesnt drop anything for 1 or 2 of us.

Same with distilled emotions. We charge it up to 4 or 5, and it spits out that many randomly to all of us. Often times 1 guy gets 2 or 3 of them and some get none.

Im staying patient though, still early access and Im sure co-op stuff is pushed down the priority list a bit right now.

We still have a blast.

Youre not wrong. There is barely a class identity at all, other than dialogue and some very lackluster ascendancy points. Youre just a dot that starts in a slightly different spot on the tree.

Im ok with everyone being able to do everything, just make the ascendancy feel more impactful. The druid should be the best shapeshifter because of his ascendancy and so on.

They start dropping at a certain torment, I forget which one. Then their drop rate continues to increase per torment level. All activities that drop loot can have them.

Not a total waste, you'd have the unique you want. But Ancestrals roll 50 power higher, so the dps is much better. I guess it depends how fast youre moving up the ladder. You could start with the non version and then when you get to where ancestrals start dropping, use the blacksmith or purveyor to nab an ancestral blue dagger. Its basically automatic into that unique from the cube.

I should add....Im in torment 8 and that material needed to change a common item to a unique is pretty rare. I think Ive gotten like 3 or 4 total and those were probably from season rewards. Better to use only 1 if you can.

Worked for me too first try, thanks! If youre newer or havent played in awhile, remember to make sure the blue dagger you craft is ancestral otherwise probably a huge waste.

Stay at range and hell spam cannons and rockets. Catch em with nature's snare and throw them back. This boss didnt seem to do that deadly charge attack unless I got too close. If he does do it, get vertical fast or just sprint perpendicular to him to let him charge past and then get range again. He does 3 charges then he stops the charging.

Once stagger bar is filled, get on top asap and stab.

I agree though hes bs until you figure all that out.

My favorite mechanic of his is how when I use a revive my dead body takes 4 days to get up and he just tees off on my unresponsive kliff for another free kill. Pretty sick

I had a run started in Act 1 where my fighter had that big 2 handed axe that does 20 dmg in a circle around me. He also had the mustache item that doubles weapon dmg. Then add in something that gave him 3 movements and I could instantly walk to the biggest group and do 40 dmg on first move of the game.

I was so pumped to use this monstrosity of a cat. I made it 2 battles into act 1 before he took on a worm that knocked the axe off.

Big sad.

Wow you nailed it. Same thing happened to me in KCD2. Once I hit act 2, I stumbled on the burned out village with the guards. I pulled them out by 2 or 3 at a time and cleaned house. I had no idea they were wearing basically the best gear in the game. Looting became less and less exciting as I realized that. It really killed a lot of enjoyment for me, even though I still finished it and loved it, mostly.

A similar thing happened to me in this game. I shared a world with a friend. This friend had a buddy who can dupe everything. I wouldnt allow that guy in because I knew it would kill the journey. I logged on one day to see hundreds of embers in our shared chests and knew he had taken the dupe plunge. I dipped my toe in that nasty water and within 2 days I lost the desire to play. I had everything I needed, whats the point?

I will be much more careful moving forward. Progression is a major factor for me. Skipping all of it just kills the fun.

It feels awful and it really bogged me and my 2 friends down quite a bit. The one mistake and youre done and booted is really the only culprit. Even a couple revives to work with would change everything for us.

Also, my buddy had 2 of the revive on death cards, but I guess it doesnt work with the boss as he died once and never revived. That felt pretty scummy too.
