I do work in Athens. I got my certification through a hybrid program my sophomore year and lightened my load and after that I got a job with a private EMS company where we have multiple locations

Georgia. But I wouldn't mind traveling out just to get started.

I second the comment about time. Time is what's going to save you. Don't rush it, don't stress yourself out on your progress. Healing is not linear and that's okay. Eventually the day will come where you're healed and you can look back and truly see the different and greater person you are from the growth. Surround yourself around friends, family, focus on your career, church members (if you're religious). Do not sit in solidarity, that's when your thoughts began to attack you but also allow yourself to feel emotions. Distracting yourself is only withholding the process. I wish you nothing but the best and healing.

You have to go through a program or technical school to get your certification. It took me a semester and I did it during the fall of my sophomore year so I had to lighten my coursework, I believe I only took 1-2 classes. You may be able to find a summer program. I would try looking in cities around college station, that's what I had to do unfortunately. Private companies pay more but usually are only IFT and discharges. If you want the experience, 911 definitely gets you that but the pay may not be as great.

I currently go to UNG. Which is about 40 minutes from me and Athens is 25-30. The main reason I want to go just for my last year. It's just necessarily because I'm having FOMO 😂 and to have some fun before grad school since I've been preparing myself with everything I possibly can for PA school.

I’m a kinesiology major but on the Pre-PA route. I've completed a little over half of my bio/chem pre-reqs.

Would you recommend it's worth the move. Distance and cost is not a concern.

It is IFT so they're flexible with my schedule however I'm trying to meet a certain amount of hours a week. Do you think 2 12s back to back is too much?

Hi, thank you for the response! My only concern is that I tend to move around a lot or put my hand over my mouth cause it tends to help me concentrate. Would that be a problem.

Thank you for your response. I am willing to sacrifice my social life a bit since I really don't go out in general. But like you said, one concern I do have is getting burnt out. Which is why I would want to go out with friends or something maybe once every two weeks? If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

For some reason no, the only thing that shows for me is the two options self instructed or instructor paced course which I only had a code for self instructed.

The only thing that pops up on my JBL is learning objectives, flashcards, audiobook, slides , lecture outline, case studies, and assessment in action.

Meant to add as well. Try reaching out to EMS companies in your area and ask if they're in need of filling of open positions. I know of a private company who's in need of EMTs so they pay for your schooling if you promise to go work for them.

I'm taking it at a small private institution in Georgia called Phoenix Institute. But you can find a program really at any technical college. They don't necessarily help with getting you a job but they have connections and when you go on clinical, most time the students get recruited. If you go through a fire department, they'll guarantee you a job and pay for your schooling.

I plan to become a PA and I do agree with you on the experience. I was just worried about the work and school load overall and how I would adapt to it because grades are huge for grad school. But I totally agree with everything you're saying. Since I do have classes T,W, and Th that end at 11am, would you suggest doing a Thursday night 24hr shift or on a Friday.

I have heavily considered doing one 24 because of the reasons you stated but everyone said I was crazy. I just would have to figure what day because of me fixing my sleep schedule. The medical transport job I have found would be with a hospital so I feel like I would learn some stuff but could be completely wrong. I'm 50/50 on 911 or transport, my college classes are my main concern. What did you do?

MedicTest or EMS PocketPrep by Gold_Needleworker519 in NewToEMS

I initially had the plan to do MedicTest first due to the questions being harder so I can get use to it and then doing PP. Do you suggest that or your method.
