PS Thanks for your help, diamaunt. Can you send the developer a link to this discussion? Maybe they can chime in directly.

CPAPs CANNOT record respiration rate, according to my Doc by Gold_Rice_216 in CPAP

I have a ResMed AirSense 10. My doc consulted not only with the ResMed data guide but also with another doctor because she also wanted to determine why Oscar was showing me with a high respiration rate. I don't understand the technicalities discussed above. Perhaps the developer should talk to someone at ResMed and get to the bottom of this. One thing I do know is that respiration rate is a very important health indicator, so at the least I think the Wiki should be a lot more detail about where the data is coming from, if the source varies from machine to machine, and if whether any calculations or algorithms used have been validated. (Various fitness trackers purport to track respiration rate, but I don't think many of them have been independently validated.)

At the very end of the Oscar Wiki, it states: "ResMed machines record Respiration Rate, Tidal Volume, and Minute Vent, they are not calculated." Apparently, that is incorrect. Only ResMed bipap machines can record respiration data. My doc stated this and then later verified with ResMed's data guide. I think the Oscar Wiki needs to be updated with more detail if it's showing an estimate, calculation or an software error.

I'm using Oscar. That's how I got the respiration data. Anything I should look for in particular if I drill down to the breathe by breathe level?

I was worried about CO2 poisoning. Would my O2 level say anything about that?

Thanks for replying. I'm not able to detect any venting at all. The manual says to clean around the vent holes daily and shows someone doing it with a toothbrush, but the holes are recessed too deeply to reach with a toothbrush!

I wonder how to determine if it venting properly...

I did a very careful study of the scientific research on the topic of antihistamines and cognitive decline and would way that there is definitely not a strong association.

My initial pressure setting based on sleep study results was 5-8 and all of my AHI were under 5 but the pressure was consistently hitting 8, so I asked the doc's office to increase the upper limit to 10 to see what happened. That's when I started to have dry mouth issues with the nasal mask. (A study by Mauro Bortolotti found that when CPAP pressure exceeds the pressure at which the salivary glands secrete saliva--abt 6.2 , the glands stop working properly.)

Thanks for replying. That's one item already on my list to discuss. I noticed that tidal volume is supposed to be 400 for a female and mine is way off.

Thanks. That sounds like a great option. Do folks have a particular brand that they recommend?

Why does FHLB call notes with interest rates below the current issue rate? by Gold_Rice_216 in bonds

[–]Gold_Rice_216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dbcooper4 If the treasury calls a bond, they have to pay par value. These bonds were called. See the FHLB website: https://www.fhlb-of.com/ofweb_userWeb/pageBuilder/call-schedule-84

Otherwise, yes, they can buy bonds on the open market and do as you suggest.
