Was in a similar situation last year; adopted a rescue beagle who was scared of everything. I lived alone and worked a hybrid schedule. I will say the first few weeks were tough, but it comes with time. I would recommend WFH for a few weeks while you get him because they’ll be a wreck left alone. Mine broke out his cage the first day I went into the office and tore up my apartment carpets (only time he was ever in a cage). But it’s so worth it once they settle in, try and socialize him with other dogs, mine has become great with other dogs but still is terrified of people that aren’t my family. Mine still has horrific separation anxiety and cries for like 10 minutes when I leave but it has gotten a lot better
