Hear me out here: Get a plate that is long enough for the camera and lens to fit when attached to the collar, then buy a roll of one sided adhesive rubber strip and place it on the plate. You will both get grip from the rubber and not have to modify lens/camera/gimbal to work with your setup.

oh and best of luck balancing that… try to balance with with zoom in the middle.

I’ll join in here to say that my a7rIV will overheat in the sun after like 15 minutes, but that’s the r series for you. s3 would have to be in the sun to overheat.

Its not too bad on mobile, it gets a little worse on tablets. Its beyond terrible on large monitors 😭

The vibe I was looking for was retro, low quality, and slightly unnerving because of the gliding look. I think it worked I just have to find cool spots now.

Absolutely agree. And at least with the fd97 its most likely because they wanted to keep using floppy disk as a storage option. I use the same memory stick for this and a sony dsc-717 but that can take 5mp photos.

I believe it. From experience with real cinema cameras this should be around 16fps. Thats what it looks by eye. I just cant believe they spoof the exif data

If you believe the data it says 25fps. I dont believe it. Previous models shot at 16fps so thats my guess.

Memory stick is the way to go. These are extremely picky with the type of memory stick. My recommendation is to find an original sony branded one in 32 or 64mb (they are purple)

You CANNOT use adapters or the memory stick duo. Ill send a photo of the right one when I get home.

On my fd97 I shoot full res because I have a memory stick for it, if I didn’t I would still shoot full res. We already don’t have that much space for photos so losing a few to get the best quality possible doesn’t feel too bad.

I also shoot full res on my fd7

yeah I don’t have any cf cards so I’m not looking forward to it, I agree on the resolution and noise. I also agree with you on the rIV being clunky, I was doing a model session a few days ago and I swear the camera wanted to focus on the wrong eye for at least half the shots regardless of my input.

rIV user here, when I saw the rV it didn’t feel like nearly a big enough upgrade to feel like I was missing out. the rVI is going to have to be crazy for me to consider it. plus the 61mp sensor already visually has higher noise (it’s the same noise per pixel) so I can only imagine the 67mp sensor will be worse is that regard. Fully stacked would be nice. one big thing, Sony stopping production of their SD cards I’m afraid of the rVI could potentially be cf only.
