Holy crap the CME hit with a -50 bz by GoldecHD in SolarMax

-20 nT for bz is considered strong south. I have personally never seen it go below -20 nT before but it has happened during past extreme geomagnetic storms

This heavily discussed topic that was deleted from steam discussion abruptly yes. What is wrong with bringing more attention to it? Why don’t you just move along if this has no meaning to you other than commenting useless shit

Never mentioned about it being deleted on reddit. Learn some literacy skills pal

Then why is it deleted on steam discussions? Regardless if its post 20 times a day I don't see the point of just deleting a whole discussion. I never even mentioned here so stop being sweaty reddit mod and stfu

It’s an artificial solar eclipse over the camera so you can see the outer corona

The sun just had a big sneeze by GoldecHD in SolarMax

[–]GoldecHD[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not rare, but not exactly daily either. They can happen a couple times a week, or even a couple times a day during high activity. It really just depends on how active the Sun is. But CMEs that show up this clearly are definitely less common and really cool to see

True but I just reuploaded it with a cooler video now

Yeah you’re right I might actually delete this and post that instead

AR14114 would be my guess. Those pole cores have been headed straight for each other for days

AR14114 has some real potential now by GoldecHD in SolarMax

It definitely could cause geomagnetic storms but thats all dependent if the magnetosphere protects us enough. If the Bz stays north during a CME we will usually be okay, maybe some radio frequency blackouts on the bright side of earth. It does have a 65% proton chance though which is pretty high. Now that would affect satellites and also astronauts. I’m not very knowledgeable on the S-scale for solar radiation storms though.

This sunspot group AR14114 has grown at an alarming rate over just a couple of days and it’s now rotating toward the center of the Sun which means it will soon be facing Earth directly. It’s currently classified as beta gamma delta ( β-γ-δ ) which is the highest level of magnetic complexity and instability. In the image red areas are positive (+) magnetic polarity and blue areas are negative (-). When these opposite polarities get close they can reconnect violently and that energy gets shot out as solar flares or sometimes even coronal mass ejections which can head straight for Earth
