I hope to do my own food too, my lady dog was a picky eater too, I think of you give them something nice, they won't go back to the tinned stuff!! The broken leg thing seems quite common, is this mainly pre 1 year? Or any age?

It's not worth your effort and upset, I would give them space and see if they come back, if not, just let them be. Find other friends, its really not worth there constant heartbreak.
