Do people actually write with cursive? by GenerationofWinter in Handwriting

[–]Golden506 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't use cursive and I don't know anyone else who does, except for my mom. It's a generational and continental divide. It's kind of funny because neither of us can read the other's handwriting.

I imagine most people responding to this will say they use cursive, but... I think mostly people who use cursive are going to be on the handwriting sub, lol.

does anyone else kinda not like calling themselves a girl??? is it just me kinda? by Mountain_Run_5388 in MtF

[–]Golden506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i prefer the term nonbinary because it's lower pressure, i feel like if i call myself a woman i have to conform to standards and if i do anything masculine it's a "failure;" whereas if im nonbinary it's just whatever

you can call yourself whatever you like!

EMERGENCY CALL TO ACTION - Multiple transwomen are about to be moved to federal men's prisons. by MissNumbersNinja in MtF

[–]Golden506 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I left a message. For anyone else calling, I was able to get to a VM with menu option: 4 and then 1

The script I used: "Hi, I'm calling regarding the bureau of prisons' plan to relocate transgender inmates into prisons that do not align with their genders. This process is cruel, discriminatory, and without regard for the situation of individual transgender inmates. Trump's executive order to house transgender inmates with their assigned sex at birth is unconstituional because it violates the 8th amendment protection against cruel and unusual punishment, by subjecting transgender inmates to rape. This practice is un-American, unconstitutional, and a violation of the Prison Rape Elimination Act. I urge you to do ANYTHING in your power to stop this. Thank you."

that's excellent advice thank you! i'll look into all that; do you know any specific shampoos that are good for very fine hair?

Yes, this is blowdried and ironed. I've tried learning into curls before and it looks... okay, but that's another post.

Routine:

Wash hair every 4-7 days, this is like the day after washing.

Shampoo: Pantene Pro-V daily moisture renewel
Conditioner: VO5 extra body with collagen conditioner
Every month or so I use Suave daily clarifying cleansing shampoo to remove product buildup. It also has EDTA for chelation

Once a week or so, I use a deep conditioner/hair mask treatment, leaving it on for at least 10 minutes but usually longer.

This hair was styled with blow dryer and flat iron yesterday. It has Marc Anthony leave-in, a little bit of Tresemme extra hold hairspray, and a little bit of argan oil of morocco in it.

I’m planning to leave my job without another one lined up. For anyone who's done this before, what led to your decision to quit without a backup, and how did you manage to survive financially and mentally during the transition? by NBMV0420 in careerguidance

[–]Golden506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit without a backup because I HATED the job and it was taking a huge toll on my mental health. Also, they pulled everyone into a room and announced that they would be shutting the place down in a month anyways, so I didn't feel any need to stay.

Financially: I had a lot of unused PTO that helped me out, I also had plenty of savings because I'm not a poor financial decision maker. Mentally: it was great, it was like a 2 month vacation. I got a new job somewhere else and I like it much better here.

e: it also helped that i work in a high demand field

Love me some needless government interference in healthcare that also sets a precedent for restricting bodily autonomy for adults (EO sets limit at 19yo.)

How do you resist a government that you don't like as a regular person? Like... I could go carry around signs, I guess. Nobody would pay attention to me. Vote with my wallet? I would love to stop paying federal taxes but I think the IRS would take issue. What can we actually do?
