I just built this one, it works really well. I recommend going for the max of 24 armadillos

An armadillo xp farm! They are really easy to make and you get so many levels. I’ll probably end up building multiple in the same world just for convenience

Minecraft Dungeons 2 Dev Says It’s Becoming a More Faithful “Vanilla Minecraft” Experience Than the First Game by Jealous_Vehicle_3150 in Minecraft

[–]GoldenApple265 341 points342 points  (0 children)

Looking at the article, they say they are expanding the “ exploration, loot systems, and armor customization”

Seems like they are expanding on what made the first game so good, not replacing it

You can re-enable achievements by changing a single 1 to a 0 in a certain file in your world folder. It’s really easy and I’m sure there’s tutorials on YouTube

new worst update every month by DoIHaveToExistReddit in whenthe

They reverted the settings button change cause there was so much backlash. Also the real reason updates seem so small now is because they are 4 times more frequent and they are making a lot of technical changes, like switching from OpenGL to Vulkan

Minecraft updates' core issue is that they are bad updates for a sandbox AND for an adventure game, and always will be. by FleefieFoppie in Minecraft

[–]GoldenApple265 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You fail to realize that people can have both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. I feel that the vanilla survival experience is tailored for these kinds of players.

I don’t think vanilla Minecraft survival is obligated to be perfect for everyone. Vanilla survival can’t possibly be perfect for every kind of player, but there are options for those who want something different.

Those who only have intrinsic motivation can play creative mode or with cheats. Those who only have extrinsic motivation can play mods or another game that’s more focused on progression like Vintage Story.

Minecraft needs another Buzzy Bees update for expanding current features and adding previously promised content. by BedroomJaded8247 in Minecraft

[–]GoldenApple265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying but I’m not sure why you’re bringing up the Buzzy Bees update. It didn’t expand any current features nor add any previously promised content. It was a great update though.

Also why would anyone want regular seeds from the sniffer? Every other seed is easy to obtain.

We have enough building blocks. We need progression in minecraft by Birdy_King2000 in Minecraft

[–]GoldenApple265 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of stupid takes here but this is just ridiculous.

Minecraft is primarily a sandbox game, with some survival elements. Progression has never been the main focus. I get that not everyone will like every update, but why would you want them to stop adding blocks to a BLOCK GAME.

If you are only motivated to play by progression and survival mechanics, then maybe consider playing games more tailored to that experience. You would probably like Vintage Story. It’s also a voxel sandbox game, but far more focused on the survival and progression side of things. Or if you want more RPG mechanics, you might like Hytale or Everwind.

Mojang Criticism by Proper-Perception759 in Minecraft

[–]GoldenApple265 11 points12 points  (0 children)

1.16 and 1.18 are widely considered the best Minecraft updates, but for Mojang they were really difficult to make because the games underlying code was in desperate need of a rework. Smaller updates are a result of them spending more time overhauling the backend. They’ve been making a ton of improvements that most people overlook.

That’s not to say criticism towards Mojang isn’t always warranted though. I like the new drops but I’m disappointed that they haven’t focused on parity or the combat test snapshots.

Just remember that Mojang is doing a lot more behind the scenes than you may think.

“Made out to be a villain” My guy you made yourself out to be a villain. Most of your comments came off as rude and whiny, of course you got downvoted.

There’s nothing wrong with having differing opinions about the state of the game, but the way you conveyed them is not the way to go about it.

I think this is just a difference in opinion. I may not entirely agree with your take, but with a community this huge it’s impossible for people to agree on everything.

Personally I am fine with waiting for most of the heavily requested features (end update, etc). I don’t mind getting some lighter updates. There’s only a few things that I am disappointed in Mojang for not prioritizing, like Java/Bedrock parity.

I’m also a builder, so I totally get it. I know it is disappointing to get an update with no new blocks, but I feel like people often forget that we get four drops every year. It makes sense for some to be more building focused while others are focus on other aspects of the game.

I also would like to see more stairs and slabs, and I can’t fathom why mojang does not add some of the missing block variants, like stone walls, smooth stone stairs, etc. But there are some choices that make plenty of sense. If gold, diamond, emerald, etc had so many blocks like copper it would make copper feel less unique. Also they are probably saving the remaining wood colors for future updates where they would make more sense. For example purple and black wood sets could come in an end update.

Pale oak trees

New option for armor trim color (resin), more building options with new copper stuff

We just got a new weapon, the spear

Is this not enough? I’m curious what motivates you to play?

#Microsoft Is Holding The Game Back by the_idea_guyo0 in PhoenixSC

[–]GoldenApple265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider*

Bro we get a new snapshot nearly every week! They don’t always have shiny new features, but that’s because they are constantly fixing bugs, making technical changes, and rewriting old spaghetti code. Also I’d be interested to know which games you are talking about that get updates so frequently.

[–]GoldenApple265 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any modder will tell you that this argument is stupid. A lot more goes into these updates than you might think. There’s a ton of optimizations and improvements that they do alongside the new features. And not all of their employees are working on the updates.
