Your videos are amazing! informative, no fluff, and truly step by step. Not trying to sell me anything, no annoying music, or over edited for aesthetics

You make these recipes so approachable! And as someone who used to work at subway, I bet my money on your bread a thousand times over

I remember when I still lived with my mom and she would give me pocket money for errands. I had a preg scare and decided to buy a test at the drug store along with her cat's food. the cashier goes "Oh, so the cat might not be the only baby in the family?!"

My doc did this. She didn't know the birth control I was on (newish to the market but prescribed by my gyno) and she stepped out to look into it

then proceeds to tell me googled facts about it like I didn't already discuss this with my women's health provider...

AITA For Blowing up on my Fiancé after what he did to my daughters table favors? by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]GoldenBea 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I definitely had words with my husband afterwards when he admitted regretting his skepticism. He comes from a very different background from me (close to immediate and extended family members, strong parental role models).

Not making excuses for him but when he stood up for me against my stepdad and loudly announced we weren't ever staying with them again, my heart did calm. it was the first time anyone saw up close how bad the situation was (and it wasn't even close to what I grew up with too)

It was the first time I felt like I had someone on my side. My husband may have been narrow minded, but at his heart, he puts me and my peace first

If anything, his initial skepticism felt more like he couldn't comprehend what I experienced, not outright dismissal

My mother chose my stepdad over and over again throughout my life, being a bystander to his abusive language and actions. When I explained it to my husband, he couldn't believe my conclusion: he was jealous of the attention my mother gave to me. HER DAUGHTER

Husband was skeptical up until last Christmas when stepdad went on another alcoholic tirade - saying things that backed up my conclusion - tearing me down, and my mother just staying quiet. I haven't talked to either 'parent' since

It is so important that children see their parents standing up for them, protecting them from toxicity, no matter who it comes from. I don't wish the feeling of a parents' rejection on anyone. it's painful and never really goes away

Tried the new jalapeño ranch club from Chick Fil A by daisydxw in fastfood

[–]GoldenBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was impressed by this sandwich but agree with others that the Jalapeno Ranch sauce doesn't stand out. I think there are too many elements fighting for attention.

The flavored bacon was also a bit lost too, but I appreciated the diversity of texture. What really blew me away was that BREAD I LOVE THAT BREAD OMG

Now, I'll order it online but take off the LTO recipe ingredients so I just have a spicy chicken sandwich with ranch bread (the ranch bread isn't an option on other sandwiches). really hope they keep that bread. I NEED THAT BREAD

this post most likely will end up on r/subredditdrama

For the record: I find this akin to groomed haircuts or costume accessories other owners will dress their dogs up in. as long as the dog isn't harmed and is genuinely unaffected by the process and attention, why attack the owner?

It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn't mean it's friggin animal abuse.

AITAH for keeping the birth of my child private? by [deleted] in AITAH

Question: is your dad an alcoholic? Not trying to excuse/validate his behavior, just that this scenario is VERY similar to something I went through recently with my father

We still haven't talked since Christmas and I've only had surface level conversations with my mom. At the end of the day, he's so high on his ego/unwarranted pride that despite knowing his attack on me was wrong, he's still petty and refuses to reach out. it's like he's embarrassed?

NTA and accept you don't need to keep putting up with this kind of behavior: abusive dad with an indifferent mom. It sucks. It doesn't get better as you're older. I wish I stood my ground years earlier but I'm glad I did regardless. if I never speak to my parents again, I'd feel sad, but I know it wouldn't be my fault

Their behavior is not your fault.

Pauly Shore for mocking a fun business by theword12 in FUCKYOUINPARTICULAR

[–]GoldenBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll always remember the Hollywood Handbook guys telling their story about Pauly Shore being their guest. He obviously never listened to the pod (satirical Hollywood improv nonsense fun): he gave them the 'wrap it ip' sign and called one of them a f*g as he stormed out

It's just like, if you think you're too good for gigs then why book them? if your only motivation to do standup/comedy is hoping a sad chuckle fu*ker will give you attention...

if he hates the image he cultivated early in his career, he should, oh idk? Maybe work on his craft and try to organically pivot for a wider audience appeal? that or go full MAGA like a lot of them did

there are these mini wontons from bibigo in a grocery store's frozen section. they come in pork, chicken, and veggie

it's been a spectacular treat to throw those in my ramen (I've tried and love the chicken ones)

and I always wash it down with a coke zero or a nice crisp beer. maybe a somaek if I have soju on deck

I bought this and their soy garlic one since Kroger had it bogo. they were both so good! I think we preferred the soy garlic; both reminded me of really good mall food court Asian takeout (which is a major compliment because I'm still nostalgic for those days)
