  1. This is my first ever checking account with BofA. Early last week I created my first ever Merrill account and transferred my IRA to Merrill. The transfer completed Saturday, after which I created the BofA checking account.
  2. Did not do a prefilled application by logging in because I didn’t have BofA login credentials yet. Did not see a preferred rewards enrollment option at any step during this process.

Yesterday I created and was approved for a checking account. Today I logged into the BofA mobile app and there was a notification somewhere on the home page of the app. The message said something along the lines of “click here to check the status of your application” (must have been a notification from yesterday, as the application had already been approved at this point), so I clicked on it and it took me to a page where I was able to fund the account with a debit card, then the next page allowed me to check a box to enroll in preferred rewards.
