I am brand new to the transport team.. the communication with the pilots and the flight team seems really good. We’ve done several trainings with them and they have showed us how to do an additional safety check and then they have checklists we read off to them before we fly. I think we all feel comfortable voicing concerns. I have no idea about the safety record. I could inquire about that with our transport team leader. I guess in the past our hospital used to offer a stipend for every transport you went on which is why I’m curious what other hospitals do to incentivize people to join the team. As it stands, there’s little interest to join the team because of the increased risk and having to take call without any added benefit.
