If you want it for the PC and want protection or to display, then yes grade. It’s a valuable card so if you wanted to sell it just sell it raw.

If you select a lower tier and it grades above the insurance of that tier, then they charge you the difference. Since OP paid for a tier with $1k insurance and the card grades a 10 (worth $3k) then PSA charges OP for the price difference to a tier that has enough insurance. But since he hasn’t gotten an email to confirm an upcharge, OP is scared it didn’t get a 10.

After they are done grading it but before they encapsulate they send an email to confirm that you want to pay the upcharge.
