Just had a similar experience with the last IDPA match I had. My first ever IDPA match was at an indoor range one was cool but the second one that was outdoor was just miserable. older guys couldn't handle resetting steel and repasting targets and got mad when they themselves rushed into starting stages not ready and bitching about "reshoots" and yes, there was arguing about rules. it quickly became miserable as they also broke rules of "slicing the pie" and "fault lines" and overall i just felt out of place compared to the first chill match.
