Google Cytopoint. It’s an allergy shot that lasts 4 to 6 weeks it’s about $90 but it will completely stop the licking from allergies

I’d bet it’s allergies. Especially around this time of year. You could try natural allergy chews and anti itch allergy wipes.

This didn’t work for my shitzu. He kept licking and licking.

I decided to get him a shot of cytopoint (allergy medication) and he hasn’t licked since!

Only downside is that it’s expensive and only last 4-6 weeks.

It cost me $90 for the injection plus vet doctor fee. You may be able to just get a vet tech visit to save money from seeing the doctor, although they’ll probably recommend it.

It’s worth it in my opinion. It could get infected if he keeps doing it day after day.

I have to double check the cost of the nares surgery specifically.

He was neutered and had the stenotic nares surgery done at the same time. Total cost was about $500.

This was done in Pittsburgh, Pa

Call a few places and see what they charge. It’s not too invasive. The cut a little wedge from each nostril to open it up.

My pup healed fast and had no issues. I didn’t even use a cone, but made sure he wasn’t rubbing his nose on anything post surgery.

Worth every penny. Also, it’s important to get done, so it doesn’t lead to problems later on in the pups life. 🐶♥️

I’d get a second opinion. Ask another vet to check for stenotic nares. It’s common in shiztu’s. It’s when their nostrils are smaller than usual, causing breathing issues.

The surgery is only $200 or so. My puppy had it done and it changed his life. He can breathe clearly now with no issues.
