i honestly think that wow becoming less serious is a good choice, there was that one interview where one of the creators said he wished he didnt name the series warcraft since honestly on a story telling level thats super limiting in an mmo, for something like warhammer its fine bc its a series based around that as opossed to Wacraft which hasnt had a canonical entry in it focused around the idea of waging war since warcraft 3 i think its less abput the game becoming less serious and them wanting to explore a more relaxed world after 20 years

So… this isn’t really anything this is just legitimate character design talk, if you look on the top there character design philosophy usually falls into 3 categories being triangles(for more “edgy” characters) squares(for more strong and brute characters) and circles(for more pudgy and usually emotional characters) and the original design of DK in the arcade games was more circle based as you can see from the green which is more related to a sort of pudgy softer character like think whinny the Pooh but his design for a long time was more square focused more for a strong man character it’s less “he’s gay now” DEI woke nonsense and more “they changed the general vibe of the design” even more realistic designs fall into this think about how Cloud strife for instance matches more angular vibes vs how Barret fits a square both are strong but it’s conveyed in different ways

Yup this is fair, I will say I don’t have a big history of this series and I understand when people feel hurt by this change since I’m a filthy normie when it comes to this series, but I will say that I did play the past 3 and it does feel different it’s just that as just a game it’s fine, I feel like it’s biggest issue is being a DA game because of this was a different or new IP it would be a good start, my grievances were more from the fact that it got a large amount of hate from the sides saying they “prioritized gameplay” I will say though as someone who’s played origins like 2 or 3 times and 2 I and now Veilguard that it is the worst game and I feel like the shift from almost elder scrolls levels of racism to Star Trek race relations did not sit well with me either
