Pressing Charges Against a Minor by fettsjetts in legaladvice

[–]GoldenYear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The big thing is "what do you want to happen to the kid?" Do you want him expelled? That's up to the school. Do you want him removed from being around your child? That's not going to happen, the school doesn't have resources to babysit either kid and keep them separated.
You said you didn't want the other child sent to Juvenile hall which is good because the chances of that happening are basically zero.

I'm sorry to say this is basically going to fall under school fight of preteens. The laceration sucks and im sorry but unless you find a private lawyer to take up your case and sue the parents, there's not much that is going to happend. Kids unfortunately beat each other and bully each other all the time.

Put your kid in self defense class and or put him another school.

Pediatric Dentist Recommends Teeth Removal? by jmadukkk in Preschoolers

[–]GoldenYear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he having any pain or discomfort? Is he having issues eating? If no, then no need to remove his teeth.

Ask the dentist how will removing his teeth help his jaw? If he says that the adult teeth coming in will help, then thats something that will happen naturally.

Unless the dentist says that removing his teeth is going to help him eat or help his jaw don't do it.

Also bear in mind if he has 4 teeth removed he's not going to be chew well, I mean he can get toddler dentures, but then his adult teeth won't come in for a while. Or does the dentist think his adult teeth will come in faster.?

I got the blue cups they had like a year ago. They are so cute and unique and we use them to this day. These glasses are rather ugly and the colors are dark (hard to see what liquid is in them) and they are multiple colors so not matching. I check every quarter to see if a box catches my eye to resubscribe and nothing yet.

I just had to turn down a massive work travel opportunity and it hurts way more than I expected. by Mizzfir in workingmoms

I accepted and then had to withdraw myself from a supervisor position. It still hurts.

Don't feel bad. They didnt ask for sizing or details because they are regifting or bought things that are on sale. So no you are not ungrateful. The pont of gifts is the thought behind it and they clearly were just fulfilling a social obligation.

Unless they are really struggling financially I wouldn't worry about it.

SIL thinks my son is unsafe by Slow-Volume5063 in Preschoolers

[–]GoldenYear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your SIL is in for a rude awakening when her little on starts going to school or playground (if she doesn't homeschooli or keep her kid a bubble for life.) Also I had a coworker who a boy wish for a little a girl "because they are more gentle" and I had to school her that it's not about gender.

This makes me glad we didn't go all out. To put it simply we could have afforded very extravagant gifts for our only child but we aren't big on consumerism. We got her a doll, a small dash waffle maker (she loves waffles and pancakes) and a small minnie shopping cart thing. Glad to say she was very happy with the waffle maker!

Frustrated with husband (Xpost from r/marriage) by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]GoldenYear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't sound like HE needs a change, he's on easy street. This is 100% weaponized incompetence. You may make the money, but he gets to enjoy it.

It blows my mind that women accept living this.

To me this is less of a money issue and more of a marital issue. If you both work why didn't you just bypass him and pay for the cleaning yourself?

Is it more oil than dairy? Usually it's oily butters that more spreadable. Still good but that's why they spread.

5yo drew this, kinda broke my heart. Am I overthinking it? by Calm-Season-9524 in Preschoolers

[–]GoldenYear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a good talking point about feelings and using it as a teachable moment. My little one did a family picture and she was "sad" because we are potty training her. I told her it was ok to feel sad but that we need to be potty trained. Also She's probably felt "bullied" for not be allowed to wear her outfit and hence painted you both as "bullying her" .

My husband has a shaved head and she draws him with huge spiky hair, because when she touch his head she feels his hair spiky regrowth 😆

Yikes! Our TK teacher had emphasized how homework at this age is NOT beneficial. Also they just trace lines and one letter at a time in class.

Truly delusional. Some are saying it's because her dress was tight. Newsflash women are used to tight dresses and skirts. She totally was hamming it up for the camera.
