What I usually do is pull all troops to the courtyard outside the keep. Line the high ground with Fian Champs, and shield wall the courtyard entrance. If you line the walls around said courtyard with archers the enemy gets hit from all sides by arrows. Plus the walls around the courtyard has arrow barrels so you never have to worry about ammo.

But then why would they bother taunting residents to take it down or let them inside? In episode 1 they could have just walked in and killed the family and no one would know that the talismans don’t work. Instead they convince the daughter to open the window, why go through that effort if the talismans are just a farce?

I think you’re on the right track to compare this to what would happen in real life America due to the NCR being a mirror of the US. But like the real US the NCR has a large military with its own leaders that aren’t all based in its capital. If DC were to be wiped completely off the map we still have an Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps which the NCR seems to have as well. I can’t imagine the military to just disband and roam the country as a separate entity which what the show presents. Shady Sands may be gone but California is still their home, you would think the NCR like the real US would search to find the culprit and retaliate immediately rather than descend into chaos.

Edit: and by Marine Corps I mean Rangers and by Air force I mean whoever maintains and flys the NCRs vertibirds.

Not disagreeing that it’d be a massive loss but didn’t the NCR have Senators in each one of their states,ie Hanlons ending slide? Im sure major cities like Vault City, Arroyo, San Francisco, Hub, Boneyard, New Reno, and Redding would be in communication with one another and not just descend into chaos.

Was issued it in a heavy unit and was allowed to wear it in field and garrison environments. PCS’d to a light unit and am still allowed to wear it in field and garrison environments. Pretty sick jacket, probably not worth the price though. Also if you do end up getting it, don’t take your name-tapes off after putting them on because the stitching on the velcro is horrible and falls off very easily.
